Time is not the bottleneck. A worker's influence comes from the fact that their labor is necessary to achieve the business's needs. Any say in setting strategy comes only FROM that influence. Belief that our labor becoming *less* needed somehow converts into *more* influence is hopelessly naive.

King county has one of the most efficient, safe and secure voting systems in the US. This is intimidation and nothing else.

The U.S. Department of Justice informed King County Elections Director Julie Wise this week that the administration is sending election monitors for the Nov. 3 midterms. It’s unclear what role federal election monitors will play or how many there will be in King County on Election Day.

"Giger’s work is frequently immaculate. Surfaces are polished. Structures repeat with almost architectural discipline. Mechanical precision gives the images a strange elegance that works against the subject matter. Attraction survives inside disgust."

The Macan in front of it also had its hazards on (despite not being in the bus stop) but also expected to be there long enough to install a sun shade. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

All self-driving cars, and Teslas especially, should have an externally visible light/signal/state that indicates when self-driving mode is active so pedestrians/cyclists can regard them with heightened caution.

How many of these folks are people who want to flip sealed phones on eBay for 2x the price?

The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that friction—for lack of a better word—is good.

This is exactly the principle that has fucked up everything from deli flyers to UX in billion-dollar products Once upon a time, even if you were doing something on your own, it took long enough to do that it made you think about what you were doing! You had time to think "hang on, this sucks."

“The title 'Rain Dogs' (1985), perhaps Waits’ finest album, attests to this directly. The term refers to dogs who wander outside during a storm, only to have the rain wash away the scents that could have led them home. In other words, rain dogs are objects of pity, not glory.”
