SpaceX got almost $6 BILLION in taxpayer-funded defense contracts last fiscal year. Meanwhile, SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk, has spent over $360 MILLION in our elections this cycle. This should be illegal — but it isn't. I'll be introducing a bill to close the loophole that allows it.

Hey, ProPublica reporter Jake Pearson here. I’m taking over the account to tell you about my new story. For months, I posed as a problem gambler on DraftKings to test the company's "responsible gaming" safeguards. Spoiler alert: They made me a VIP — and I lost $10K. Here's how it all went down. 🧵

IMPORTANT: The Dutch invested €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart governments do the math on investing in better mobility. Let’s be clear— it WASTES public money to NOT do it. #CityMakingMath HT @modacitylife.com

Your cost of living is going up, up, up. No worries, Trump is trying to spend *at least* $900,000,000 of your tax dollars on the White House East Wing that he illegally tore down.

With 57% of its electricity now coming from renewables, including 22% from solar & 21% from wind, Spain built one of Europe's most impressive electricity systems. Solar is now the country's fastest-growing source of power & has helped drive some of the lowest wholesale electricity prices in Europe.

Happy 250th birthday, USA 🇺🇸! In Germany we’re very grateful for the big role of the US in liberating us (my then teenage parents!) from authoritarian rule. I’m deeply concerned that now the US is sliding toward authoritarian rule, including suppressing science. www.carbonbrief.org/prof-ben-san...

Trump gets the "FIFA Peace Prize." Months later his DOJ drops a bribery case involving FIFA officials. FIFA "leases" office space at Trump Tower NYC that reportedly sits empty. Meanwhile, federal regulators look the other way as FIFA price gouges fans. Where's the red card when you need it?

The DOJ will indict one man over something that happened 30 years ago as a pretext for invading Cuba, but it won’t indict *any* men Jeffrey Epstein trafficked girls to as recently as 7 years ago as a pretext for protecting those men. Time to remove the word “Justice” from the department’s name.

We went from "armed gunman mere seconds away from shooting the president is killed by Secret Service" to "guy with a shotgun falls down on a different floor well outside the entrance of the ballroom and we can't find the bullets because that just happens sometimes" awfully fast.

When a loud noise is unexpected, it's a normal & healthy physiologic response to look *toward* the noise. This *automatic* human reaction helps us to identify potential danger and determine whether we're safe. Not looking toward the noise is *highly indicative* of foreknowledge. #BodyLanguageExpert
