Young ‘uns: this stuff happened once a week during Obama’s presidency. Dijon mustard. Moving a bust of Churchill. Inviting a rapper to the White House. Putting his feet up on his desk. They’d scream and cry for days about how effete and snobby and Black he was and how misinderstood they were.

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States. "In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct." Report w/ new details: democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

More the fool I, but I really didn't imagine the current regime not simply leaning in to racism but braying it from every rooftop. Fuck RFK Jr., fuck his wife, and fuck anyone—anyone—who thinks that the Republican party deserves anything short of oblivion.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

YES!

El-Sayed on Trump's cognitive tests: "I went to medical school...In my neurology unit, I would have to give that MoCA exam...The only people that you give a MoCA test to are people who you worry may have cognitive deficits. By definition, if you're taking one of those tests, something's wrong."

I’ll never forgive them for foisting these absurd freaks on all of us.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

This guy is so fucking weird and awkward.

Why won’t Dems talk about this?

FactPost@factpostnews.bsky.social

House Judiciary Democrats have uncovered reports alleging Trump was an "active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s."

Weird that the focus is fighting Democrats, not fighting Republicans, the actual party trying to make things worse for all these constituencies.

Evan Urquhart@evanurquhart.bsky.social

Now, look, on a certain level there's a likelihood to this, right? We're probably going to have to spend 20 years fighting Democrats to restore what we've lost, whether that's trans rights, immigrant rights, voting rights for Southern Black communities.

The best Reddit comment I've seen on Marissa Mayer needing AI to find 3 adjectives to describe her 10-year-old: "Someday in the years to come, Marissa Mayer’s daughter will go no contact with her mother. And Marissa Mayer will ponder this and ask AI why."

Desarrayed@desarrayed.bsky.social

Marissa Mayer: "I'm a terrible, lazy parent who doesn't want to spend a moment's though on my child (self-congratulatory)"

The Dude reposted

People will say it’s bad that Mayer couldn’t answer this herself, and they’re right. They’ll say it’s bad she asked AI, and they’re right. But I am here to say that it’s bad that she looked at this wack ass output and called it “perfect”

Anyways I saw him acting like a fool on college game day and everyone looks so thoroughly sick of him. Gonna pull out the Roy Kent meme!

Ash@irisandmaeve.bsky.social

May I express a spicy take? I do not like the tank-top wearing loser that ESPN fired all their good journalists to pay for his thoroughly mid podcast and the fact that he's a thin-skinned toddler who keeps losing his shit and costing them money sparks joy. Imagine being cleared by the Mannings.

Vance and Yglesias both think very highly of themselves. They both resent people who are unwilling to be as morally/ethically flexible as they are and they think that inflexibility is a weakness they don’t have.

So whether it’s achieving political power or achieving a lot of paid subscribers and popularity among east coast elite cocktail partygoers, they will say and advocate what they think they need to in order to achieve those goals.

He does this so he can sit back in the comfort of his sheltered existence and tut-tut anyone foolish enough to have values, principles, or beliefs they aren’t willing to compromise. He believes this is wisdom.

Similarly, JD Vance has no sincerely held beliefs, principles, or values. His entire gimmick is advancing his own career and achieving power. He will say anything, do anything, that he thinks will help him achieve power, no matter how despicable or repugnant.

He himself doesn’t have any sincere principles, fundamental values, or beliefs. His entire gimmick is “centrism” which, in his view, means never taking a firm stance on anything and always being willing to compromise any view based on public opinion polling.

Two types of response to Musk raising the stakes and issuing threats: 1) Oh no! Who wants all that noise? Better avoid this fight, let his malfeasance slide, maybe it’ll just work out. 2) Good, makes this easier. The problem’s unavoidable. We’re not starting a fight, we’re responding. Go with 2

If this isn’t about Dr. Acton's childhood, then why use a woman who sided with Amy's rapist, lost custody when Amy was 12, and hasn’t known or seen Amy in 48 years? And if you do believe she was raped, why would you ever air a mother who sided with the rapist to talk about anything?! 1/

Matt Yglesias has never held a real job in his entire life.

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

This has been one of the strangest weeks yet for Trump's health. At rally after rally, he blurted out random noises and seemed visibly confused. Now, he just posted this cryptic message:

Is Kalshi taking action on what the random verbal tic or bizarre facial expression Trump is gonna make at his rally tonight? It would be the third day in a row he’s has some weird episode like that on camera that is totally not in any way related to his very healthy mind and body.

The “parent estrangement” panic should be understood as part of the same complex as anger at social media “censorship,” and demands for affirmative action for conservatives in academia. Conservatives simply think you should be forced to listen to their dogshit ideas, no matter how cruel.
