This is easily answered. Bomb disposal experts are those that get to attempt it twice.

Mike Foster@swanmore.bsky.social

Can I go slightly off-topic? Why are bomb disposal operatives always described as bomb disposal EXPERTS? I mean, is there a lower level of personnel called bomb disposal CLOWNS? Or bomb disposal NOT VERY GOOD STAFF? Do they use these when it doesn't matter if there's an explosion and people die?

1. We can indeed declare war against Russia and kick them out of Ukraine. Because that is what we are talking about, and it would trigger a major land war in Europe, with mass evacuations and 100ds of thousands of casualties. 1/4

is this a Chaos Orb? Is the Pope our new Emperor? At what point do we create the Legions?

Elle@elleisanisland.bsky.social

Pope Leo XIV has been gifted a massive green orb and honestly not now massive green orb

EU alone is funding research in the 2026-2027 year program to the value of 403B€, a 14 percent increase. On top of that you have funding to the same amount from member states, plus an equal share from private sources. In total the research budget and R&D budget in EU is 1 209B€. 1/4

By the way, if you want to see the photos I took while I was in Ukraine, I arranged them in a Flickr album. If you want to sneer at the fact that I am still using Flickr, you can just fuck right off. I am tired and am going to bed. www.flickr.com/photos/uncle...

flickr.comUkraine 2026I have been honored to be invited as a guest at dozens of conventions, but I never thought that I would be asked to attend a convention in Ukraine, a country that is actively at war with its neighbor....

*sigh* I read an article on OFZs and I’m torn between 👉 Do I not bring it up because, I’ve already covered most of it without the confusion 👉 Do I cover it and pick apart the details that I think will lead people down the wrong path.

It's seriously challenging how to even describe and respond to what SpaceX is doing with spaceflight these days. (It sees itself as 85% AI company!) It really boils down to a Putinesque denial of the reality that Starship failed to deliver the expected performance - because of physics - since 2023.

Triage the Grinder Man the drone units first — this should already be settled policy, not a proposal. The catch is supply, not priority. Drone operations need recruits with above-average technical and analytical aptitude, and no amount of urgency expands that pool overnight.

Initiative on Credit There's a lot of noise about AFU's long-term strategy — a patchwork of undermanned units instead of something cleaner. Strip away the specifics and the whole debate comes down to one contest: who holds initiative.

Since I did do my PhD in cyanobacteria growth and treatment optimization modeling AND work in the water treatment industry, I’m gonna share my theory as to what’s happening here and how to fix it. People are focusing on the painted bottom of the pool increasing residual heat, and while that 1/19

RIP Mark Rothko. You would have loved how the hydrogen peroxide bleach is only turning the Reflecting Pool blue around the perimeter

By 1936, Nazi Germany had the 3rd largest whaling fleet in the world. Much of it operated by Unilever. The result would be the near-extinction of the Blue Whale, all in the quest for something worth more to the Nazis than gold: Margarine. Find out more on this week's Untitled History podcast!

welp, you can teach yourself a surprising amount of quantum mechanics by trying to render it in blender lol, this is a 1s+2pz superposition oscillating through full cycle of relative phase. Breathing motion is the dipole moment of the electron cloud swinging back & forth across the equatorial plane

Kommander Karl@kommanderkarl.bsky.social

Rendered the hydrogen 2p_z wavefunction in Blender. Not the probability density, the signed wavefunction itself--so you can see the two lobes carrying opposite phase, and the nodal plane between them where ψ = 0 "hey kid, wanna see some quantum eigenstates?" lol
