This is clearly not a denouncement of the Acton ad from Ramaswamy; if anything, it's a tacit endorsement of it.

The fact that Amy Acton was removed from her mother’s care and went on to obtain an MD and flourish in public health makes her even more of a hero in my eyes. This type of trauma never really goes away. Yet when there was a fork in the road, she chose the one where she helps others. Hero.

In a decent world, Vivek would apologize to Amy Acton and the people of Ohio and suspend his campaign today. What an absolute shit thing he has done with that commercial.

That Vivek Ramaswamy ad might end up being the worst own goal we've seen in a major race. Platforming the estranged mother of your opponent to attack her, only for everyone to discover that the mother protected the rapist of her 12-year-old daughter and stayed married to him, is beyond despicable.

I always have mixed feelings about these images. Yes, it's inspiring to see these college students committed to democracy, but the fact that they have to do anything remotely difficult to exercise their voting rights is enraging. Taking part in a democracy should be as easy as possible.
