Yep The BC Govt had only a 1-seat majority The BC Conservatives took advantage of this & tried to collapse the govt 13 times & almost succeeded several times Had my BC NDP MLA not voted from hospital *hours* after giving birth, we'd have had a #bcelxn 18 months ago www.threads.com/@mourrej/pos...

Painful irony: Canada produces far more petroleum products (including diesel) than we use. We exported $4.6b of diesel last year. So this price shock in Canada is not inevitable: it's caused by our policy decision to mimic world prices for our own petroleum products. /3

For 51 of the last 55 yrs conservatives have been in power in Alberta That's 51 years of underfunding healthcare & education But according to conservatives, 4 years of NDP government destroyed Alberta The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over & expecting a different result

Me, too. They fell for the propaganda. 274,014 that voted in 2024 didn't vote this time. If they had voted we would have had a bigger majority. The Cons got 48,922 fewer votes than in 2024. Selfish, privileged voters threw the vulnerable under the bus. Shame on them all!

Well I guess all those people who voted for the conservatives will feel the same kind of buyers remorse now felt in the USA...When they do I expect they will be out on the streets to protest. I did my part, my duty....now it's up to them, it was their purchase.

If the B.C. election result stings for you tonight, remember that this province once forced a majority government to back down on a tax it had just brought in. A new government still answers to the same people who hired it.

This thread sums up my feelings about the #BCElection

Can I just say, that as a Canadian citizen, living in BC, I have fought for human rights all my life. Tonight, I am disgusted. The progressive government we had was defeated by Canadians that presumably believe in human rights, but were "mad about an election being called". Many will suffer and die.

And we go back to the start again. It's very disheartening. It's one step forward and two steps back for democracy, because those that don't want democracy have already gotten all the money and power. They own the tv stations, radio stations, web providers, etc. Facts are gone from discussions.

This is something that has reoccured over many years. We finally get a progressive government that is actually working for the people, and the owners of the giant media companies trick people into voting against their own self interests. People get impatient. They don't know it takes time to change.

You are so right. Soon people will be crying as they see healthcare funding cut, our resources sold off, car insurance premiums skyrocket and racism and intolerance promoted.

It’s been incredible connecting with the community during this election. With tomorrow being the final voting day, we’re going to be out and about, continuing to connect with you and your family. Hearing what your priorities are and what you want from your MLA. #BCNDP

My wife said to me, “I begrudgingly went out and voted.” And you know what? She still showed up. Don't ever think your vote doesn't matter. IT DOES! You don't have to love the choices, but you should never underestimate the power of your voice. Get out and VOTE! 🗳️ #bcpoli

Canada is begging BC citizens! Please do not vote in any Conservative candidate. It’s not your normal Conservative Party. It’s far right extremists that will make it so hard for healthcare facilities to operate. They will not support medical people. Separatists will slither in. DO NOT VOTE CONS

Reminder: even though the election is tomorrow, the BC Conservatives do not have a permanent leader. The Cons never voted for Doerkson, and now they want BC to. Doerkson may appear moderate, but don't forget the party voted for Kerry Lynn-Findley, not him. #bcpoli #bcelection
