I started watching reruns of Futurama (my favourite tv show) with my husband a while ago and just learned that in an exceptionally poetic fashion, it was un-cancelled in 2023(!!!) there's been a new full season every year since?? Bender is great!

Just saw someone say their AI runs their fantasy football team and I can’t stop laughing. Like, I’m sure everyone’s doing it or something but it’s very funny to me that pretending to be a team manager was so hard that you needed to pretend to pretend to be a team manager

Just boarded my flight back to YYZ from SLC and experienced a brand new boarding procedure. I was not asked to present my passport nor my boarding pass. Instead, I had my picture taken, I was recognized by software that I am me, and allowed to board. There was no clearly communicated opt-out.

At security, the usual expectations applied: I scanned my passport, presented my boarding pass, and had a photo taken. The photo had a clearly communicated opt out procedure signed by the camera, as well as an SLA that the image would be deleted within 24 hours.

I don't really understand this. This didn't speed up boarding at all. I've also never experienced that in any airport in the world. It feels like software is being trained to replace gate agents, and I don't like it.

I think it’s a mistake for Carney to use his speech this morning to announce airport privatization. It really distracts from the main pitch at this summit, which is to invest in building new things, and it invites opposition.

He made shady back-room deals which destroyed the Toronto West Islands and he's coming for the Harbourfront now too. Worst of all, he has passed undemocratic rulings exempting himself from Freedom of Information requests, which hinders investigations into these dealings. (3/4)
