Hype man! Let's go!

The Tennessee Holler @thetnholler.bsky.social

🔥 @agiftfromtodd.bsky.social : "Y’all get it now?? Do you understand what’s possible? I don't wanna hear no more 'my vote doesn't matter. Nothing ever changes.' Look what happens when you participate. We win everything. There are more of us… for the rest of your damn life, you gotta vote.”

Nearly 200,000 Floridians were priced out of even *signing up* for #ACA coverage during Open Enrollment this year, & the ~4.5 million who did are being hit with a 58% increase in net premiums *and* a similar hike in out of pocket costs (deductibles, co-pays, etc). That's over $1,200 more *apiece.*

Feeling overwhelmed with all of this. LISTEN. Another Louisiana resident (Marshawn is the only name we have) testifies against the state’s racial gerrymander, speaking truth to power up and down the hearing room and predicts how this story will end. Speak your truth, fight and believe.

Lots of talk about SCOTUS’s decision in Callais, but not many people have actually read it. This piece goes to the text of the opinion & pulls key language. If you only read one thing about Callais, read the actual words of the justices here. joycevance.substack.com/p/what-the-c...

5 out of the 6 Supreme Court Justices who gutted the Voting Rights Act were nominated by a president who came into office having lost the popular vote. 70% of Americans support the John Lewis VRA. The Supreme Court is historically unpopular. It is not a democratically legitimate institution.

Incredibly important that this happen. National security isn’t sports betting.

Regardless of whether it’s all talk, when the leader of our country expresses plainly genocidal intent, everyone has to do something. For citizens of all political stripes, it means rejecting this madness. For Congress, it means taking action to rein him in. Now.

This is an actual post. This is not funny. This is beyond desperate. This is a deeply unwell man who doesn’t belong anywhere near the levers of power. Every member of his cabinet and Congress is complicit in not demanding his removal now.

Pete Hegseth’s broker tried to line up a multimillion-dollar investment in defense companies just weeks before the US –Israeli attack on Iran. Now it’s blowing up on Hegseth. 🚨 Today House Oversight opened an investigation & wants answers from Hegseth, plus execs at Morgan Stanley and BlackRock.

Not trying to be hyperbolic, I fear we are on the cusp of a 9/11 type catastrophe that this regime is unwilling and unable to protect us from.

So the State Department is forcing everyone to immediately leave the region but is also refusing to help people leave the region. The strike itself is illegal and disastrous but their lack of readiness for what comes next is unforgivable as well. Incompetence everywhere.

They went to war with Iran (which nobody in America was asking for) so they could conjure an excuse to allow ICE to keep murdering Americans and teargassing schools here at home with impunity (which nobody in America was asking for).

Welp

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

Oh cool. The justice department is investigating itself. I’m sure this will be really thorough.

The Justice Department says it's now examining whether it wrongly withheld FBI files that contained allegations against Trump in its Epstein files release.

the fact the president of the united states is even thinking about asserting emergency powers to disrupt an election - just a few years after he incited an armed coup attempt - should be the top issue. but the media mostly shrugs and the opposition doesnt focus on it.

“You have held zero public hearings…You have made little effort to call the people who show up most prominently in the Epstein files. And when you did, not a single Republican Member showed up for Les Wexner's deposition.”

Yashar Ali 🐘@yasharali.bsky.social

Here is Hillary Clinton’s opening statement to House Oversight on Epstein. Clinton says she does not recall ever encountering Epstein and says she knew nothing about his crimes. She also says that Trump should testify under oath and criticizes the committee for not holding any public hearings.

NEW: A page from Bondi's burn book. This is a list of the searches by Rep Jayapal of the unredacted Epstein files. That means the DOJ grabbed her search terms from the computers they set up for members of congress to view the Epstein files to use as ammunition. The photo is from Reuters.
