I love that Zohran is learning Spanish, one of the most spoken languages in the world. He makes this struggle public, which shows a human side and encourages others to allow process to happen and to not be embarrassed by mistakes. Bravo!

... class was difficult for me to learn with. It didn't help that my parents were very much against the idea of me learning a 2nd language. Should have known back then from that, that they were right-wing leaning. As time has gone on, them being right-wing has caused some big issues in the family.

Everyone appreciates the effort to speak in another language. I discovered this as a white parent coordinator in an 80% Asian NYC school. Got big smiles when I introduced myself in Mandarin to our Dual Language families. It shows you care enough for them to feel welcomed n comfortable.

Zohran is a good mayor and a GENIUS politician. Letting the public see him attempting to do a good thing in a good way, not immediately succeeding, but persevering, shows that good attitude and determined grit can succeed and makes people willing to help, whether him or other good-intended person.

You'll get there. Just remember that the letters are almost always pronounced the same way every time. If no accents are marked, stress the syllable before the last for singular words that end in vowels (even if plural) and the last syllable for singular words that end in consonants.

I swear going overseas was the best thing ever to happen to me! I noted most all others can speak 2-5 languages while Americans barely speak English. I also noticed foreigners knew so much more of factual history. (don't shoot the messenger)

Not if you start them learning that 2nd language in Kindergarten, and keep it going until they graduate. Many other countries do this, and some even have a 3rd language learned by the time they graduate.

It’s crazy that our country doesn’t speak several languages like most of the free world. Even some of the “not free” countries speak other languages. They know it opens the door to a whole new world of adventure. I wish I knew German because of my ancestry. And also French and Spanish!
