Kerry O’Brien:What’s left of the democracy we thought we had? In the eyes of many Australians, government is a hollowed-out husk of what it once was, with limited will and capacity to plan for, let alone exercise, a measure of sovereign control over technology.. www.themonthly.com.au/october-2026...

When public servants give evidence in a public hearing, about jobs that the public pays them to do, their answers should be direct, unambiguous, and detailed. That is the contract between the public and government. Any suggestion otherwise goes against that agreement.

I’m really trying not to be reactive with the term ‘menstruators’ but it feels like a gut punch to me. I’m all for inclusive language but this feels offensive. Thoughts?

Reposting because it only got noticed once on Albanese's page...Thanks Fran! Just common sense.

Unfettered capitalism was always going to cause our downfall. Maximising profits at our planet’s expense is at the core of this economic theory that the world over has just accepted as natural law. We need a reckoning.

Growth that kills its host isn’t growth. It’s cancer with good PR.

“The principal purpose of Carbon Capture & Storage has never been to tackle the climate crisis. Instead, CCS serves to align public opinion & government policies with the fossil fuel industry’s plans for unrestricted expansion under the cover of “net-zero". www.nationalobserver.com/2022/04/06/o...

The lessons from Brazil and Serbia? Don't concede one inch of ground to the far right. Don't appease. Don't triangulate. Don't grovel. Don't say they have "legitimate concerns". Mobilise your base, and fight them with all the democratic means at your disposal.

“How do you tastefully satirise someone’s vaginal prolapse? You don’t”💥 Monique Ryan rips shreds off Pauline Hanson for attacking her rivals with violent & misogynistic cartoons. Says it’s time media stop ‘giving a public voice’ to someone who spreads so much negative trash.💯

What are we goimg to do Australia? We can’t let our corporate owned government keep cosplaying democracy. It is time to take to the streets for ourselves and in solidarity with working ppl across the world.

Niki Savva on #insiders today noted that whether Republicans win or lose Congress at the mid-terms, Trump will be even *more* erratic and dangerous in the next two years. Begs the obvious question: what is the Australian govt's risk management strategy for handling its close "ally"? #auspol

AFP Commissioner Krissy Barrett calls out violent political rhetoric such as Pauline Hanson’s car ramming video—for having a "direct correlation" to real attacks on politicians. Speers: “Like a cartoon that suggests someone should be hit by a car…?” Barrett: Yep.💥 #auspol

The Tesla Cybertruck failed Australian road safety standards and won't be sold here. Studies reveal their roofs crumple when drop bears fall on them from overhanging trees.

Dr Helen Haines is fighting for her life after a horrific car attack, yet media applies no pressure on Pauline Hanson to remove her cartoon of political rivals inc Albanese being mowed down by a car. Political violence isn't satire, it’s dangerous. Hanson should remove it & apologise.

Hey Pauline Hanson. Is there literally ANY way mocking a woman for a serious medical issue can be “done more tastefully”? You know what would be ‘more tasteful’? If you grew up, put on your big girl pants, and STOP your divisive and offensive attacks on everyone, THAT would be ‘more tasteful’.
