What chutzpah. It became impossible to discuss the academic issues raised by Ewell's address because the professor whose water they are carrying launched a racist attack on Ewell and sued his colleagues, including a graduate student. The main text does not mention suing the graduate student.

haven’t used apple music in forever, so didn’t realize (1) I had it set to repeat, & (2) it has a new “mixing” function, which, for I’m So Excited by the Pointer Sisters, has it seamlessly loop around like the song never ended. At about 10 minutes in I was like “how fucking long is this song??”

That Rolling Stome article on “Choosin Texas” complaining about how people who haven’t heard the song are siloing themselves is hilarious to me. Popular Country music in the US is possibly the MOST siloed genre in the country, especially in the 21st century.

I live in a little gay bubble, and I have plenty of friends who worship Reba, Shania, and of course Dolly. It’s also worth pointing out that Taylor Swift, one of the most ubiquitous pop artists in the US, got her start in country, and the music she’s making now isn’t substantially different
