Congratulations to Toronto @mayoroliviachow.ca on her re-election tonight. Given Doug Ford’s constant interference & distractions, Toronto is arguably the hardest city in Canada to be the mayor of. I’m hopeful that in her first FULL term, Mayor Chow will lean in on more bold, creative city-building.

Brent Toderian@brenttoderian.bsky.social

Toronto, don’t forget that polls don’t win elections. Turnout wins elections. Please go out today and #VOTE for @mayoroliviachow.ca.

Not great, Bob!

Thank you Iona, Jarrett, Frances, and Caitlin. You are all some of the most experienced, hardworking people in the city, and you ran a campaign that was authentic, rooted in the belief that City Hall can be more. Your voices and your ideas have made this party, and this election, better.

It would be an excellent thing for Vancouver if Iona Bonamis, Lucy Maloney and Caitlin Stockwell were all elected to council tomorrow - this video does a great job of explaining why.

We have a bounty of opportunity on our streets. These folks are ready to seize it. @lucymaloney.bsky.social @caitlinstockwell.bsky.social @ionabonamis.bsky.social youtu.be/E1LtBKE7yY8

Our Candidates have been endorsed by public figures from labour, arts, climate, schools, federal and provincial governments, academia, and Indigenous advocacy. Today is your last chance for early voting. Whoever you vote for mayor, make sure OneCity is on your ballot for a more affordable city.

Last chance to vote early is today, 8am - 8pm! Election Day is on Saturday 🗳️

OneCity Vancouver@onecityvan.bsky.social

Today is the *last day* to VOTE EARLY. You can vote at any polling location. Hey, if you vote today, then you can spend all day Saturday helping your friends and family vote on Election Day.

As you’re voting for Vancouver city council, no matter who else you vote for, I encourage you to vote for @fabulavancouver.bsky.social. Most candidates underestimate the massive learning curve that comes AFTER winning. Frances has been smartly engaged with, & communicating, urban issues for decades.

Frances Bula@fabulavancouver.bsky.social

Dear my delightful tweeps, some news! So after 30 years of City Hall and urban-issues stories that you all know, I'm doing something completely different — I’ve decided to run for a City Council nomination with @onecityvan.bsky.social and hopefully run on their slate this October.

We’re in a critical moment in Vancouver city-building and governance, and this Vancouver municipal election feels particularly important. I support progressive voices, including @ptfry.bsky.social for mayor, & @lucymaloney.bsky.social @fabulavancouver.bsky.social @ionabonamis.bsky.social & OneCity.

Brent Toderian@brenttoderian.bsky.social

We early-voted today in the Vancouver municipal election. Easy, no line. I voted for candidates who champion better walking, biking & public transit; better people-places and smart street transformations; more housing and #DensityDoneWell with amenities & smart design; and budgets that create value.

Caitlin Stockwell thinks you should be able to ask your city for more. We can and should support young people, seniors, families, artists, and workers to find a voice, a place, and a future in Vancouver. Vote for Caitlin and the whole OneCity team TODAY until 8pm. www.onecityvancouver.ca/vote

Tyler Petersen wants you to have more third spaces in Vancouver. Places outside home or work where you can just be. Our Parks and Community Centres can be at the core of that revival. Vote for Tyler and the whole OneCity team on Tuesday, Oct 13 or Saturday, Oct 17. www.onecityvancouver.ca/vote

Krista Sigurdson wants to build childcare on school grounds, so you don't have to drive across town to get your kid a childcare spot. It's not impossible, it just takes the team with the experience and the drive to make it happen.

Iona hates traffic. On City Council, she'll fix it. Early voting in Vancouver's local elections is on TODAY, 8am-8pm. And you can vote for Iona Bonamis 陶思穎, and elect an honest to goodness transportation planner to City Council. Ken Sim probably voted early. Will you?

I was very young when people could still smoke indoors in Vancouver. But I distinctly remember people smoking inside Granville Island Public Market as a kid 🤯

Brent Toderian@brenttoderian.bsky.social

I lived thru the end of public smoking. Early in my career I presented to city councils who were smoking, in front of audiences who were smoking. Smoking in restaurants, airplanes, hospitals… All of that seems insane now, but it was very controversial when we DID change it. We CAN change things.

There will be TWO elections this October, and we hope transit riders vote in both of them! It can be confusing to figure out which level of government is responsible for what (especially when candidates make promises they can’t follow through on).

We think co-ops are pretty cool, actually. OneCity will make it possible to build more of them and keep the ones we already have. On October 17th, you can elect OneCity's beloved Co-op King 👑 Jarrett Hagglund to City Council.

This October, we can build a city that belongs to everyone. Lucy Maloney is running for re-election to City Council to fight for your right, and your family's right, to live a good life in Vancouver.

Yeah. It’s a privilege to get to vote for Frances Bula. Like her expertise on a public servant salary is a complete steal!!!

OneCity Vancouver@onecityvan.bsky.social

After decades chasing of City Councillors for comment, Frances Bula has seen it all. And for the last four years she's seen Ken Sim & ABC spin their wheels and forget what they promised us.
