This afternoon, my husband & I walked up to a newish pharmacy in our neighbourhood to get flu & Covid shots. The pharmacy is located in a long-vacated branch of the Royal Bank, in a slightly tatty strip mall. The young pharmacist told us he emigrated to Canada 10 years ago, from Nigeria via the UK.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

we are in trouble. there's no denying it. and we're in a crazy alternative world where we're pretending everything is A-OK. It's not. Let's do more. Let's pressure our poliiticians to fight harder, for us.
