In May, I got the chance to foster amazing FIV+ duo Cathy and Heathcliff. They arrived from the shelter with 2 one-day old kittens. Cathy was so thin the shelter had not even realised she was pregnant.

They fixed it! It's been broken for days, and I have a whinge and they fixed it. You may thank me :)

I'm really amused that Bluesky added the automatic thread counter widget, but it apparently forgot how to count.

I have accidentally bought teduced sugar Mr Kipling apple pies. This is Wrong. Eating mine with a small handful of Haribo.

8.5g of sugar versus 14.1g in tbe normal ones, and they're slightly smaller too. Might be useful for some - but not really enough lower to be worth it for us.

Hey Font Folks! Got a question... I'm looking for a font that's similar to the MPAA's Rating System font but fun. Think like "Fat Tip" but as a Serif. Maybe it's me & having poured through my collection of fonts for a few hrs but I can't seem to find a decent substitute. -.-

Things I never expected to happen: it turns out if you leave a pile of random bits of paper in Matthew's room for long enough he eventually decides for himself to go through and sort them into ones he wants to keep (or not). He also got distracted into reading the whole of a vaccination leaflet...

Hello! It doesn’t cost anything to repost but it helps me spread the word about my small business. My online shop is full of bold & colourful prints, homewares and cards. I’m also available for freelance design work and art licensing. gailmyerscough.co.uk

36 years ago (give or take a few days), Squadron Commander Lord Flashheart turned up in Blackadder Goes Forth and electrified the half hour. The studio audience sound like they're on the urge of going fucking berserk. Anyway, here's a drawing of him, and Driver "Bob" Parkhurst.

Oh god, the radio controlled clock in the living room hadn't reset itself this morning. I tried to do it manually, and initially hit the auto setting, where it tried to set to the right time: and was still an hour out. Then I pressed the right buttons to set it manually to the correct time. Sorted?

Well, maybe. Because since then *twice* it has suddenly launched into auto-setting on its own, and reset itself all on its own. In the process it winds itself forward to 12 o'clock, then pauses before winding forward to the right time. Will it do it again? Who knows!

Weirdest thing in a dream last night: looking out of a window at night to see a hedgehog sitting on the top of a leaning over bullrush. Point it out to my companions just in time to see the rush spring back up and catapult it way across the lake into the darkness. Wonder how well hedgehogs can swim?

When the central heating programmable thermostat was not just out by one hour... the date was set to 10th June 2019. No wonder it didn't pick up the clock change automatically! (Oven and microwave and dining room clock done trivial, the nominally radio controlled living room one is harder but done).

We've just been saying how the ease of video calls and group chats has made my dad being in hospital for ~6 weeks so much more bearable - for him as well as us. I suspect without advances in the understanding and treatment of vasculitis he wouldn't still be with us. Hurray for modern medicine.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

My mum has been able to get food delivered while she's been at home without him. We've been able to keep family and friends in touch with how he's doing, and to look (carefully) into more information about what his condition means. And all that's just the benefits of the Internet.

When a nobleman came in to the tavern and put a note on the board, the monster hunters went to check it out. Laughter erupted. "A gazebo? Quick, someone get Eric!" Then the bounty caught their attention. "That's a lot of gold. Why?" "This gazebo," the nobleman said, "was made by Baba Yaga."

Yesterday was all abouting finding all the PHP sites and turning them off. (Even the ones on a supported release where using remi- so patches weren't out yet). Today will be about patching and updating and despairing about tech debt. Yay?

So I have a) a cold and b) a dentist appointment tomorrow. I know the dentist has excellent ventilation and tends to wear a mask, but should I go or not? I'm currently leaning towards call them and ask? (A survey of random dental practices with relevant FAQs online says "maybe")

My first ghost story of the fall is this figure, passed on an uphill road in the gloaming, who I wasn’t entirely sure wasn’t a real figure until I was very close (It was darker than the camera lets on)

Want to do art but don't feel very artistic? One solution: just have a go. Another is to go down the crafting route. Paint by numbers. A colouring book. Following a knitting pattern. Cross stitch kits. Karaoke. Dance along to Strictly in the living room. Bake a Nigella recipe.

Planterbot looks after your planters in the garden, gently shepherding them into and out of the shade, and in and out of shelter from the rain, to help them grow at their best.

Dad is home from hospital after 6 weeks. Still got a lot of treatment to come, but at least he's home, and clearly happy for it!

When youre a size 14, and the closest sizes the cute leggings come in are 8-14 and 14-20... The latter were out of stock, so I ordered the smaller ones, and they're a bit tight on the waist, but I've been wearing them a couple of hours, so probably won't send them back. Shame though.

I am on an eerily empty CrossCountry train from PBO to CBG. Are they always this nice on weekdays? There's like one person per pair or set of four chairs.

Being trans is not a choice, just like being gay is not a choice. But even if it were, so what? People are allowed to live their lives and pursue happiness however they see fit. Being queer hurts no one, unless you erroneously define queerness itself as harmful. Let people live their lives freely.

New skill: applying medical compression socks. (It's much like trying to put on a pair of tights 7 sizes too small). My dad's still waiting on a outpatient dialysis slot before he can get out of hospital, but it's getting closer.
