This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.

Yes we rewriting whole SlimeVR server to improve interface, and fix math, also to make more reliable architecture. Yes, we doing it by hand, no ai. In this economy. Ai can burn, we wont sell our values for minor momental improvement in dev speed with huge tradeoff on quality. ₍ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎♡~

The same thing happened with Resonite and the splittening. I busted my ass on it and got massive performance improvements after release. And then things just gradually got slower as people built heavier systems, bringing back "It's so badly optimized" comments.

It feels like whack-a-mole reporting these computer-generated 'authors' as they spring up, but at the moment it seems like all we can do. The move from harvesting articles to just plagiarising entire books is less of a creep than a sprint - but keep pushing back.

Myself and others should be given the choice of whether or not we want to engage in ai driven content, a refusal to flag and describe your use of generative systems is an affront to the very viewers who's attention you want to claim.

Heavy generative asset users may complain that no one will watch their content if such a filter is made but is it really fair to flood the field with content that took little to no effort 'ai slop'....

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.

this takes an incredible amount of character, not just to give it up, but to admit all of this. This guy has more guts than any AI fuck by a mile, and maybe more than us too. People who've managed to escape AI usage are invaluable towards convincing others to do the same.

I wrote an essay about why I'm done using AI for coding, even if it costs me my job and career: brettcodes.com/im-done-usin... The basic gist is: AI made me a worse, apathetic programmer. I think it's bad for humanity, the planet, and the craft of software engineering. And I'm done using it.

-IMPORTANT- Gumroad has recently updated their website with the intention of phasing out the ability to manually edit your storefront and allowing you to only edit your storefront via AI agents. I will be dropping gumroad support entirely in the near future. More to come as I sort things out.

Saw a post saying "I don't want NSFW accounts to talk about voting, just let me jack off" Buddy, NSFW artists and sex workers are being constantly attacked by a government of nonces trying to distract from their own crimes by pinning the blame on porn. They have the right to speak up about this.

If you are going to be forced into all digital by #playstation anyway now and the console will cost over a thousand, wouldn't it just be better to spend a bit more and go to pc? Physical games were the one reason I occasionally used a console. #nocdnoplaystation

There's a reason people don't want you to experience negative emotions through fiction and the reason is fascism, because then you'll realize how unfair your own condition is and you'll start questionning the World and ipso facto the system. It's always about control, never about protecting

A key point in Fahrenheit 451 is that books were banned because they made people depressed and uncomfortable. The novel's protagonist, Montag, is taken into custody after he reads a poem that makes a woman cry because she realizes the emptiness of her life.

I’ve seen a lot of chatter going on about #bungie lately. While I gave up on Destiny because they threatened to ban Linux users I still enjoyed the game. Ending updates for it with no sequel in the works was a mistake. If any bungie up had to be thrown in the bin it should have been marathon.

At best economically speaking. If they thought it was because of less enthusiasm for the last destiny expansion maybe they should have let the devs release their full intended vision for that xpac. Seems it could have been cool! And apparently they want to do layoffs now?

Why not toss the management who cut the scope of the expansion in the bin instead? Kinda wish Destiny fans weren’t getting such a raw deal.

I know there are folks that love Marathon but from an economic standpoint it entered into an overcrowded genre and seems like it was destined to have an uphill battle the whole way. So the fact they are puttting destiny in maintenance mode to focus on marathon strikes me as a dubious decision…
