Ok, some ASHE charts. Two headlins before getting on to implications for 2027 min wage. First - low pay didn't fall (actually rose slightly) for the first time in 15 years. That's not surprising. Policy has been to peg minimum wage to median wage in recent years.

Just straight up trying to lose the senate & the house, ey champ?

(2/3) now pretending to be a “perfect little angel” - and we will continue to do so! We already have tremendous CRIMINAL and REGULATORY power over these companies! There is a SICK conspiracy going on against AI and Data Centers, and the only one that is happy about it is

“They were never going to amount to very much anyway, so might as well make them mothers, it might teach them some responsibility” was pervasive until at least my own teenage years in the mid/late naughts. It might still be?!

So many wasted opportunities to give young girls from the most challenging & deprived backgrounds a genuine shot at a better life. Sacrificed for a disgusting grooming gangs narrative

There is a not insignificant proportion of the PLP that are simply not that bright & deserve to lose

EXC -MPs loyal to Starmer have said they will rally round Darren Jones if the PM decides to resign - to prevent a Burnham coronation. “He would have the numbers of the PM does not run,” one MP said. The coordination has been done with those who signed a loyalist letter in May

Please, please, please more of this! Town centre voxpops on a weekday at 2:30pm only attracts gobshites!

(I prefer going out door knocking with canvassers as I think it gives you a better sense than randomly stopping people in the street - in my experience this tends to bias towards the sort of person who likes to stop to talk in the street and most people don’t like to do this)

Are you the best geoguesser in London? Need a bit of help on an investigation. Looking to locate this photo of a cemetery or churchyard in London, probably in the north or east of the city. Victorian graves overlooked by low rise post-war flats. I’ve tried most of the places I can think of!

The smuggest cunts you know are about to get sacked

1. Labour needs a second term to renew this country after years of Tory failure. On the current trajectory, we won’t get there because we will lose, and Farage will win. That should be nobody’s legacy.

Britons are wrong about almost everything, part 382

YouGov@yougov.co.uk

While 52% of Britons support weight loss drugs being available on the NHS for obese people, this falls to 32% for other overweight people, as the NHS looks to expand the drugs' use to aid with other conditions For obese people Support: 52% Oppose: 35% For overweight people Support: 32% Oppose: 55%

Holy shit, please, please, please someone let that CEO do the pod.

nilay patel@reckless.bsky.social

Couple things here: 1. What the fuck 2. I am allllllmost more offended by the suggestion that I would give this shitbox edit than having my identity stolen 3. The CEO is scheduled to be on Decoder soon and we will see if they back out! www.theverge.com/ai-artificia...

With a majority this large there were always going to be some dross in the PLP, but some of them up close are frightening. Totally unable to follow the logical conclusions of policies they’re supporting

Those first few responses got a chuckle out of me.

This IPSO adjudication against the Telegraph is quite something Confirms their story titled: ‘We earn £345k, but soaring private school fees mean we can’t go on five holidays’ was completely fabricated, with the family involved non-existent and stock pictures used www.ipso.co.uk/rulings/0210...

ipso.co.uk02104-25 Fraser v Telegraph.co.uk - IPSOIan Fraser complained to the Independent Press Standards Organisation that Telegraph.co.uk breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors’ Code of Practice in an article headlined “We earn £345k, but soa...

Britons are wrong episode #1176

YouGov@yougov.co.uk

Britons tend to feel that weight loss drugs are too easily available, despite the government planning to bring in bonuses for GPs who refer patients to such treatments Too easily available: 40% Current balance is about right: 17% Not available enough: 14% yougov.co.uk/topics/healt...

Former UK PM Gordon Brown is providing - voluntarily and not for the first time - information to the police about abuses of power relating to the Epstein files. As PM Brown was briefed against by people such as Alistair Campbell and Peter Mandelson as being ‘psychologically flawed’ ….1/

This is what I find frustrating about the ‘man of public service’ line coming from No.10 & their allies. Starmer is frequently dishonest & that has been apparent for some time. He is regularly full of shit & expects us to believe it & then feel bad for him when it’s time for the consequences. No!

Stephen Bush@stephenkb.bsky.social

On the Labour side, there’s a lot of “the public are not able to face up to Hard Choices” - you never gave them the chance to! You instead presented a manifesto that was either an act of self-deception or just of regular deception!

In a previous life I worked out of a museum service for a bit. It cost £750k a year just to keep the building at the required temperature not to void our insurance on the collection. Heritage is INCREDIBLY expensive!

So there are two interesting things about this. 1) how many C-Suites are pretending AI adoption is more significant than it is to get on the hype train for their investors & 2) this only tracks AI adoption that happens within systems 1/2

Hetan Shah@hetanshah.bsky.social

‘A big new survey of executives in America, Australia, Britain and Germany… shows that almost three-quarters of businesses are using AI in some way. Yet 86% of bosses across these four countries report the technology has had no impact on labour productivity over the past three years’
