POSSIBLE LOVE - the cinematic equivalent of a great novel, just one where you can luxuriate in the details big and small. Lee Chang-dong seems incapable of missing.

The only way to stop this chaos is for much stronger legislation against corporate mergers and private equity, because otherwise they’ll continue to ruin everything

Finished Penguin Colony, and for all the happily janky penguin physics, it unfurls into something darker, angrier, funnier, weirder. The back half of the game is where the aesthetic, thematic and ideological ambitions of the game really make themselves known in ever-more satisfying ways.

So NAZA is absolutely essential as a document of the Israeli government’s atrocity and genocide machine, but also a smart piece of filmmaking in terms of a simple, effective aesthetic design to underline the testimonies being provided. Raw and devastating in its simplicity.

This is the sort of braindead project management that happens when Tim Sweeney spends too much time on Twitter

NEW: Epic Games has delayed its upcoming (not yet announced) Star Wars + Marvel shooter as it pivots to complete AI game development. "No more hand-written code," a director told staff. All art "generated with full AI workflows." Full scoop: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

I watched my cousins play THE 7TH GUEST when I was way too young, and there was a murder scene near the start that truly unnerved me in a visceral way. Of course, revisiting years later and it was cheesy as all hell.

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

In awe at the new Gilla Band album. Been fond of them for years but this new one pushes their sound further and further. Several songs make it feel like your brain is being shaken in the best possible way.

You’ve rarely ‘got to hand it to’ The Guardian these days, but releasing Naza for free on their website later this year is definitely a welcome move towards getting more people to see what sounds like a truly important film. www.theguardian.com/film/2026/se...

WHEN THERE’S TREASURE BEHIND THE WATERFALL: Oh wow. Yes, very clever! Waterfall treasure! No one’s ever done that before. Lazy jackass WHEN THERE’S NO TREASURE BEHIND THE WATERFALL: Wow. Too stuck-up to put treasure there huh? Too much of a fucking ICONOCLAST for that? Piece of shit. FUCK you

Most promising thing about the Resident Evil reviews is how many cite its apparent goofiness alongside the intensity. Good - Resident Evil at its best *is* goofy and always has been, even if the previous films (and some games) missed the mark.

If you’re careless enough to advertise your restaurant using an AI slop burger made from unidentifiable substances, then I’m immediately asking questions about the care you put into your actual food.

500 quid for ‘premium toilet’ access is truly beyond any sort of parody, but let’s be frank: there’s nothing other than greed driving general admission tickets to the 200 quid mark either.

Gavan Reilly@gavreilly.com

General admission tickets €181.25 Front standing tickets €211.25 ‘Reserved seats for outdoor compound’, including reserved stand seat, separate bar and food area, and “premium toilet” €501.25

people have been running scam coins like this for like 7 years now, they've only ever been scams, not once has it not been a scam, and everytime someone launches a new one they pretend its not a scam, but it always is a scam. its incredible

SCOOP: A few weeks before the launch of Star Wars Zero Company, most of the developers at its studio were furloughed The studio says they hope to secure funds to restore their pay. Some are skeptical it'll happen I learned about this via a bitter lawsuit: www.gamefile.news/p/star-wars-...

gamefile.news‘Most’ of Star Wars Zero Company studio Bit Reactor was furloughed ahead of launchThe details emerged amid a legal dispute between company founders. The lawsuit also provides an unexpected look into a studio behind one of the best-reviewed Star Wars games in years

GTA 6 unsurprisingly looks like an outstanding tech achievement, but a lot of the stuff highlighted conforms to the dull, heavy life sim and tediously linear shooting missions that imo ruined RDR2. There are hints of more fun, dynamic open world stuff in the footage but very much not the focus here.

BREAKING: After the Washington Post fired me last year for speaking the truth in the wake of the Charlie Kirk killing, I fought back. And I'm happy to announce: I won my case against the Washington Post. They have been ordered to reinstate me immediately. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/24/b...

COYOTE VS ACME - There’s a throwaway background gag in this where some books in the law office are labelled ‘Anvil Law’ and that joke alone is good enough to justify this film’s rescue from the most cynical act of corporate sabotage in living memory. (Rest of the film is funny and charming too!)

This latest strongly worded statement is definitely going to turn the tide, even if the last dozen didn’t. But seriously: these countries have already surrendered any moral leadership here, and no concerned letters will change that. Only actual meaningful action and change will.

Is there any functional difference between ‘low availability’ and ‘limited availability’ on Ticketmaster? It seems 99% of the time they both just mean ‘sold out’.
