Had a text debate with a family member today on AI. Things I notice: AI users go on and on in their self-defense. Almost like they’re trying to convince themselves rather than me. Anti-AI arguments, meanwhile, are clear, concise, and fairly irrefutable.

Verrus (Google) is full of shit when telling our city that their data center is going to be sugar and spice and everything nice.

Google was really trying to hide its water use figures, to the degree that it got the council to try to keep its water use figures secret. The community finally got the actual numbers and found out Google was using 29 percent of the water in the community. www.wired.com/story/what-t...

We are watching a coup d’état attempt unfold in real time in Brazil. I’m consumed by desperation.

Hello people slash robots who connect online and real world experiences: just because I purchase something at a store does not mean I opt in to being put on an email list. This was a physical store. I assume my VISA sold me out. Fuck you, VISA.

Getting high off of burning plastic fumes as I try heat gunning this awful thick white poly something or other off this old Gibson Melody Maker. It used to be sunburst.I’m probably in over my head, as it needs a fret job, too—something I’ve never done.

I hate a world where I have to sign into my word processor. WordPerfect would never!

Anyone have any informed insight on why EVERYFUCKINGTHING is being ridiculously difficult to use? I've just had to TRY to sign into MS WORD, four times, unsuccessfully, when I own 3 active, paid subscriptions or licenses. (And sign in info is maintained in a password manager.) Literally fire all the Democratic fundraising consultants and shut down all these fucking companies.

Jake Grumbach@jakemgrumbach.bsky.social

We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.

This showed was cursed—several stars dead, abuse and rape allegations, etc. There’s no need for this. The guy who played Curt now has a great career as a popular children’s book author, so that’s the only epilogue we need from this shitshow.

Lea Michele will return as Rachel Berry for the ‘GLEE’ reboot. (Source: variety.com/2026/tv/news...)

Does PHP still mean “personal home page” or did it never mean “personal home page” and I’m misremembering some information I probably skimmed 30 years ago?

@democrats.org please read.

Molly Knight@mollyknight.bsky.social

Do they even understand how much they’re pissing people off by doing this. Whatever research that convinces them that spamming everyone is all upside is bullshit. It is like they’d rather have all my contact info to sell to other campaigns forever than receive my donation. It sucks.

Make America the 90s Again

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

They keep putting rain in the ten day forecast, then when those days approach the rain clouds turn into a sun and I’m getting real sick of it. Do better, whoever “they” are/is. #IWouldLikeToHaveSomeRainPleaseItsTheFuckingWillametteValley

We were watching an episode of The Repair Shop and they were working on the exact Japanese jewelry music box that my mom used to have. It was weirdly emotional. I loved that box, and I have no idea what became of it.

this is a penguin revenge film. there is blood on the foreground. the penguin with blood on his belly survived and found the nearest group of penguins who are going to slap the living shit out of some seal.

Somebody said "They voted for racism and got poverty" The thing is... social scientists and economists have been saying for the last 50 years Racism is austerity

I keep hearing the 96 Tears organ part mixed in to the end of Suffragette City, so I have no choice but to find a necromancer, raise Ziggy and the Spiders from the dead, and have them swap out the piano for the organ.

I am not sure who these folks are, but I feel bad for the two on screen left who spent all of their allowance on suits, but couldn't afford shirts to go under the jackets. That must be uncomfortable. I hope they were fed at whatever event this was.

we have Backbeat. We don't need this. At least Backbeat tried to get folks who kind of looked like the Beatles. I guess the guy on the left kind of looks like Paul, but still.

DiscussingFilm@discussingfilm.net

Sony is considering releasing all 4 ‘BEATLES’ biopics on the same day in April 2028. Another idea being considered is offering a 4-pack of tickets to encourage fans to buy tickets to all 4 films at once. (Source: www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...)
