The cabinet must have an office pool where they all kick in like $100 on Monday and at the end of the week, whoever has said the stupidest and vilest thing collects it all.
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
Predictably, the Republicans pushing back are mostly lame ducks like Cassidy and Bacon.

Musk would do this through those f*cking Trump Accounts they opened in every child's name without parental consent. I HATE these SO much. Parents cannot close the accounts. Parents cannot reject donations to the accounts. And we must hold on to donations for at least 5 years. I'm a state lawmaker.
since California ballots are now out:
prop 40 is the billionaire tax, and you should vote yes to stick it to them
but both props 41 and 42 are designed to retroactively cancel the billionaire tax because they’re afraid they can’t beat it at the ballot box
yes on 40, no on 41 and 42
Excerpts from Michael Lewis on DOGE (Guardian article).
1. Gavin Kliger, white nationalist, refused to shake hands with the Black IRS staffer who briefed him on privacy issues. Or pay attention.
Kliger now has a defense start-up valued at 1.4B thanks to DOGE.

Erick Erickson: "I do think they're going to lose Ohio ... the polling in Ohio for the GOP is pretty bleak. You have the white nationalists who don't want to support Vivek Ramaswamy for governor. You have the Max Miller situation that is actually dragging down the ticket."

Trump and the GOP's REAL base of support — the billionaires, Big Oil, Big Tech and AI, Big Crypto, defense contractors, and Wall Street — know that the midterm elections may limit what they can get away with in the future.
Understand the stakes and vote accordingly.
I love Talarico and hope he wins. But he’s already raised $70M
On the flipside, control of critical state legislatures will come down to seats where candidates raise 0.1% of that. I’ve researched the highest leverage swing district candidates you should donate to

What makes this midterm environment more different then in the past is just how many people are voting to spite the incumbent. 43% is highest its ever been in these polls
I wrote about how Trump is treating presidential power like it's his own possession and using it to punish blue states — but also about how at least he's promised lots of cash for all of us. www.ctinsider.com/columnist/ar...
We *have* an arch in Washington now -- not in DC, but in WA State. My WA Girl Scout troop joined the 2003 annual event there w/ 1000's of scouts from both US & Canada.
Inside the arch: "May These Gates Never Be Closed". #internationaldayofpeace#arch@hcrichardson.bsky.social@jbf1755.bsky.social
Canada is a sovereign country, but in practical terms it is more important/integral to the U.S. economy than at least a few U.S. states. Once again the “nationalists” know almost nothing about this nation.
In 2024, the US imported ~12 million metric tons of potassic fertilizers from Canada (hillnotes.ca/2025/06/05/p...)
Specialized ships can carry ~60k metric tons, tho container ships <half that (www.sasktoday.ca/central/loca...)
So we'd need at least 200 ships loaded from [checks notes] Belarus
A triumphal arch with sniper facilities and large quantities of ammunition. Under any other president this would be the most insane idea ever. With Trump it might not even be the most insane this week.

I've listened to quite a bit of Duke Ellington but he continues to surprise me. In 1959 he wrote (with Billy Strayhorn) and recorded this piece, which adds a 9-piece tuned percussion section to his usual orchestra. #jazz#ellingtonwww.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFnr...
Watching the #sfgiants and wondering why I don't recognize anyone...only 3 players from the opening day roster are on the active roster today (Lee, Koss, and Roupp). Philip Abner? Jason Foley? Who the hell are these guys?
I keep seeing videos of a guy who catches crabs and lobsters, cracks all the barnacles off them, puts a shrimp in their claws and throws them back. can you imagine. abducted by aliens but they just give you a spa day and hand you two hot dogs and let you go
NEW: Pope Leo XIV’s brother, John, told Italian media that the pope helped him file his tax return and, over a video call, got him back into a computer he had locked himself out of.
Prevost propped his iPad on the dead machine and asked his brother what to do. “Because I’m computer illiterate.”
"If economists wished to study the horse, they wouldn’t go and look at horses. They'd sit in their studies and say to themselves, 'What would I do if I were a horse?'" -Ely Devons
The distracted driving discourse is already popping off but I’d just like to throw in: I’ve been an insurance adjuster for almost 13 years. When I started, we almost never saw high speed rear end impacts. Now they’re like the most common type of claim. It’s distractions, this is obvious.
As someone who helped baseline this mission at NASA back in the 1990s, this is absolutely heartbreaking.
The Trump administration is determined to destroy science, discovery, and curiosity.
I will never forgive or forget the Republican Party's betrayal of our collective future.
