If you're talking about ED... you need to be talking about GP. We cannot fix ED and hospital overcrowding until we have enough GPs. Put the fence at the top of the cliff.

What if we just didn't make fun of what people looked like (or their size, or ability, or hair or clothes or makeup or plastic surgery even or any of that shit) Because actually what matters is what you say and what you do words and actions and their impact on other people

I work near K road and I cannot overstate the positive impact the CRL appears to be having on it. The streets were semi deserted most days. Theres now a steady stream of people on the street. It’s amazing what decent transit can facilitate.

I love it when a #creative person archives their work on the Internet Archive. I began doing it years ago with my stories, and it's enriched my life. Sell your #books. Sell your #music. Sell your art, vids, etc. But also consider future generations. Add your creations to the #InternetArchive.

Got confirmation that me being loud and autistic online is a good thing. I posted on Insta about a disability accommodation I have that is "no same day meetings." I need notice because if I have a planned out day and the executive function to focus, pulling me out of that can destroy my day.

If you think about it ACT is in fact the least economically efficient of all our Parliamentary political parties. Highest vote to donations/spending ratio. Makes you think.

I've been again exploring ways to make public information and data a bit more accessible. Enrolment and turnout is a big issue this election and a lot of organisations have been working to get as many people enrolled as possible. #nzpol So we made: vote.inzight.co.nz

Relatedly I would really love it if we could stop having pissy little swordfights every election about how many cops the major parties promise to recruit. Hire more social workers, fund mental health properly, institute a living income for everyone and THEN we can talk about law enforcement

Stephanie Rodgers 🍉@bootstheory.bsky.social

And let's be clear, "funding properly" does not mean minimal increases to start trying to somewhat address decades of cuts and stagnation. It means *massively* increasing health and social services funding, so we're preventing illness, diagnosing early, treating effectively, supporting real recovery

"#JehovahsWitnesses just Changed their Blood Transfusion Rules... Again" Exiles & Pilgrims 19 Sep 2026 [0:16:30] #JW #ExJW #Cult https://s.cultpodcasts.com/ZhS3qLRswkqZhWUWeyunzQ

youtube.comJehovah’s Witnesses just changed their blood transfusion rules... AGAINJehovah’s Witnesses just made one of the biggest changes to their blood transfusion policy... ever. In Governing Body Update #6, Geoffrey Jackson announced that red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma are now matters of personal conscience. Witnesses can even choose to donate blood for use in components or fractions. Whole blood transfusions are still officially prohibited (for now). But in practice, this change opens the door to the most common blood transfusions actually used in modern medicine. And that raises some serious questions... Because just six months ago, the Governing Body changed its position on the use of a patient’s own stored blood. Now, after what Geoffrey Jackson called “further prayerful consideration,” they’ve changed another major part of the blood doctrine... and this time, it's even bigger. In this video, I break down: • Exactly what Jehovah’s Witnesses are now allowed to accept • Why this is such a massive change in practical terms • The 2000 Watchtower article that said “God’s law on blood is not open to reform to fit shifting opinions” • Why the Governing Body’s own scriptures — including “do not go beyond the things that are written” and “we are not the masters over your faith” — create a serious problem for the old policy • My own family’s experience with the Hospital Liaison Committee during a life-and-death medical situation • The history of Jehovah’s Witnesses refusing red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma • The human cost of the blood policy • Why the timing of this change — including legal pressure in Japan — is worth paying attention to • And the bigger question this change raises for every Jehovah’s Witness I’m genuinely glad this change could save lives and give doctors more options when treating Jehovah’s Witnesses. But when an organization tells people that a medical decision violates God’s law, and people make irreversible life-and-death choices based on that teaching, changing the rule later raises questions that can’t simply be brushed aside as “new light.” If you’re a current Jehovah’s Witness, former JW, ex-JW, PIMO, POMO, or simply trying to understand the Jehovah’s Witness blood transfusion doctrine, I want to hear how you view this latest change. 📖 Download my FREE study guide examining Jesus, Michael the Archangel, and the Holy Spirit: https://exiles-pilgrims.kit.com/a33c1d9107 🔔 Subscribe to https://www.youtube.com/@exilesandpilgrims?sub_confirmation=1 for thoughtful analysis of Jehovah’s Witness beliefs, Watchtower history, Catholicism, theology, biblical interpretation, and the history of Christianity. Apparently Chlöe Swarbrick beating Nicola Willis in a poll on who New Zealanders trust to manage the economy came as something of a shock? Not to me. I’ve been listening to how Swarbrick talks about money. There’s something interesting going on. 🧵

Had a great time doing #48HoursNZ over the weekend – both helping my friend with his #film and making my own solo film. I can't wait for the Ōtautahi heats next week! It's so gratifying seeing an audience experience my work, and amazing to see everyone else's films and how talented everyone is.
