The SFO and HMRC should be both conducting an investigation into the club and the auditors. It's been announced today that Deloitte's in Cyprus, Abrmavitch's auditors, cooked the books enabling him to hide his assets. I feel City's auditors must have been complicit.

— Enzo offside for winner, unanimously ruled error by KMI — Bruno G denied pen (+ Maatsen second yellow), unanimously ruled error by KMI — Phantom pen against Konsa, unanimously ruled error by KMI — Gravenberch sent off for two soft yellows, 0:0 becomes 3:0 It's a lot so early in the season.

From 2020, an alliance of three major US airlines and aviation staff unions argued that Etihad Airlines was receiving enormous subsidies from the Abu Dhabi government, which, they claimed, distorted fair competition. Not sports, not Man City it's Aviation space, same rulebook. 😂

40 trophies have been won by 2 cheating teams since 04-5. One admitted to cheating; the other has been convicted of it. 13 PL's, 10 FAC, 11 LCups: by cheating. This goes to the foundations of football in England. Either we have a competition, or we don't. PL, act accordingly.

This reminiscing about Baresi has convinced me that Channel 4 needs to bring Gazetta Football Italia back. I mean all of it. Reruns from the early 90s *and* a modern update, presented by James Richardson of course.

Trump on Balogun: "That wasn't even an infraction...this referee, who is a little bit suspect if you check his past. He made a call nobody could believe...he's our best player, or one of our best players. And he gave him a red card. I didn't know what that meant...yes, I asked for a review by FIFA."

Exactly the question I have put to a couple of them. Both *think* that, yes, there would be a case to be fought, as the USMNT may de facto field an uneligible player. We're not talking about a can of worms, but a full barrel, a firkin!

This is an excellent post. The country that brought down the last FIFA president for…..corruption, is now corrupting the laws to benefit itself.

Zito@zeets.bsky.social

It’s just insane that the same country that prosecuted FIFA executives is now saying it doesn’t matter if it helps us. Proves that FIFA was right from the beginning. People only complain about corruption until it benefits them, and all they had to do was find a way to do that for the USMNT.

Statement from the Belgian FA pointing out that the appeals process is a scam so FIFA can keep their decision but pretend that there was a fair ruling. www.rbfa.be/en/news/upda...

Michael Caley@michaelcaley.bsky.social

FIFA has how made up some kind of insane appeal process and could rescind the Balogun red card recension no notes www.nytimes.com/athletic/742...

From speaking to a few legal people etc re Balogun, there's a consensus that: 10.5 is clear - cards are issued by the referee. They are not "disciplinary measures" so 12.7 should not apply The object of the FIFA disciplinary code it is to do with infringement of rules, not on-field offences...

Markgpope reposted

This is just pure, unadulterated corruption. Nothing against Flo Balogun obviously, although I think it was red, but you can't pick and choose when rules apply. Belgium should be furious.
