Great 🧵 on the Israeli electoral system. Source material for students of PR.

This is a good primer on Israel's political situation going into tomorrow's election. But I'd like to go deeper on something he only touches on, which is that part of the reason for Israel's electoral doldrums (and resulting geopolitical chaos) is its broken political system bsky.app/profile/avis...

We’ve now reached Summerstown where, back in the 60s, local teenager Mark Feld could often be seen busking outside the Prince of Wales. That’s before it became a Tesco Express. And before he became Marc Bolan. “Musician and poet” – he’d have liked that. It takes a poet to rhyme Debora with… zebora.

Bolsonaro-friendly mayors appear to be sabotaging public transport on Election Day. Buses aren’t running in Lula-friendly areas, flights and ferries mysteriously canceled. Traffic lights have gone out and people’s power cut in Salvador, indigenous people’s travel restricted

We are watching a coup d’état attempt unfold in real time in Brazil. I’m consumed by desperation.

This footage shot by a tourist aboard Jacksonville Boat Charters near Amelia Island, Florida shows a leatherback sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea). At 2000 lbs (900 kg) & 7 ft long (2.1 m) they're the largest turtles & indeed one of the heaviest extant reptiles on Earth. Here There Be Monsters!

Puzzling (predictable) that Wilder cannot admit playing BBD or Chong in front of Donovan. Ok not full 90 but that 1st half performance needed an immediate personnel change.

Balloon releasers seem to think they never come down. In the Fens we often see them in drainage dykes like this one. Not a diy recovery: banks are 3m tall and a slip means you're in +2m of water. The drainage board had to send a team to remove it as it was big enough to block a sluice or culvert.

There are a great many things at play. I do net pretend to understand. Yet I am draw.

Enjoyed seeing this woman's work. Sustainability isn't just about producer decisions, but also consumer decisions, namely their willingness to repair things when needed. This type of repair is easier on natural fibers, rather than stretch fabrics. Consider that when shoppping. IG loosethreadsrepair

Inventor Alex Moulton demonstrates how to take apart a Moulton Stowaway, in order to tuck it into the boot of a Morris 1100 (which had a Moulton-designed suspension). Moulton's unique small-wheel bikes were high art in the '60s, and are still available today. #BicycleBirthday April 9 (1920-2012) 🧵
