This is the third person today to suggest that my equality as a human and an American citizen was a gift bestowed upon me by Democrats as opposed to an unaliable condition inherent to all people.

See, to me climate change is a great example of where a blind faith in incremental change getting us where we need to be has been a disaster. It's been 30 years since the science was settled, and we've never gotten past hopeful half measures that might lead to real action some day.

Instead of looking at politicians in terms of Democrat vs. Republican, it's better to distinguish between individuals that hold fascist or fascistoid beliefs and ones who don't. Racist, xenophobic, and anti-trans views need to be a dealbreaker. Candidates with those views should never receive votes.

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

I think a huge reason Elon Musk is so virulently transphobic is not simply that his daughter transitioned & went no contact, but that he did everything he could to make sure all his kids were boys b/c he hates women, & one of those children deliberately & publicly embracing being female enrages him.

Fascists don't care whether what they do is embarrassing (or unethical, or illegal for that matter). They care about getting away with it. They literally define a person's worth by their power and ability to do that. And the thing they enjoy the most is toothless outrage from their opponents.

And if they'll turn on one minority then they won't hesitate to turn on other minorities. Which kills the argument that Dems in those states are any kind of lesser evil, unless they expressly condemn this. Otherwise, they're just blue-sect fascists that make less noise than red-sect fascists.

Colorado & Michigan have become the latest blue states to end Medicaid coverage for trans youth. Solidly blue Colorado will also be IMMEDIATELY shutting off care for all trans kids receiving puberty blockers—despite Trump's rule allowing a 6 month ‘tapering’ period. This is a complete betrayal.
