4yo: Dad, you know why your hair’s so long? Because you’re old. Me: But I don’t have long hair. 4yo: But you’re still old.

When the generic clown costume just won’t do.

Colorado’s most popular Halloween costume this year? The Governor of Colorado. My favorite part of the fit is the Colorado tie. It could be at your local Spirit Halloween.

i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

Also, studies show that when we improve a space or system for the disabled, the benefits actually spread to everyone. You’re not just helping yourself later; you’re helping yourself right now.

RFK Jr attacked the great @sherylnyt.bsky.social for this reporting so you know she got it right. I competed agaist her on FDA stories when I was at the WP, and what a misery that was. I was happier after coming to the NYT and being on the same team.

First online service I ever used. It helped me write a report in the fifth grade. My teacher and I had a hell of a time figuring out how to cite it in a bibliography.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Happy three years.

Dr. Amy Acton's campaign is out with a statement:

Wrote last week on The Rooster about Conman cutting an ad with Amy Acton's estranged mother as his "October surprise." Well, here it is. Polling on it just went out.

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

Mark Jacobs does a great job here of voicing a widely held critique of the NYT: "There’s just a lack of bravery. I think that you should be writing a headline that says that Donald Trump is assaulting democracy.” AME for "standards" Patrick Healy responds with straw men and mush. 1/7

🧵🧵🧵 The NY Times posted a 15-minute video today in which I got to tell NYT what’s wrong with its coverage. They said they saw my critical posts on Bluesky and invited me to do a video with them to air my grievances. Weird, right? I didn’t hold back. I blasted their sanewashing of MAGA extremism.

Again, public shaming and outrage does actually work as a lever of power in this social and political landscape.

Jacobin just going straight up right wing nowadays

It’s actually shocking how dishonest this article is. Russian military aggression is presented totally passively, as if they’re weather events, and the supposed warmongering from NATO is western leaders and military figures saying “If Russia keeps bombing us we might have to retaliate”

From memory: So kiss a little longer Make it last a little longer Hold tight a little longer Longer with Big Red That Big Red freshness lasts right through it Your fresh breath goes on and on, While you chew it

So say goodbye a little longer, Make it last a little longer Give your breath long lasting freshness with Big Red!

I knew Jacobin trafficked in deadbrained left wing takes but I didn’t know it also trafficked in deadbrained right wing takes. Horseshoe theory wins again.
