It’s funny how all of a sudden state’s rights don’t appear to be a concern for the GOP.

“Trump administration sues three states over attempts to regulate prediction markets,” including Polymarket, which is backed by Peter Thiel and includes Donald Trump Jr. as an advisor. 4/2/26 … 1/ share.google/llaEDkJLFgXN...

What’s stopping us from joining the ICC and letting them take care of The Trump Crime Syndicate? The world shouldn’t have to clean up after us, but these people deserve every punishment available to them for all the damage they’ve done to ppl in the US and around the world.

This administration is completely comprised of cringey weenies who take themselves so seriously they can’t see that most of us are just laughing at them when they do shit like this.

David S. Bernstein @dbernstein.bsky.social

You really need to work hard to be the most obsequious member of Trump’s cabinet — by, for instance, eating lunch at Cheesecake Factory and alerting Fox Business, so they can interview you in defense of Obama’s joke about the White House decor. Well done Secretary Bessent! Your move, Doug Burgum!

“I couldn’t possibly be racist, I’ve tutored in inner-city Minneapolis!” I don’t know, somehow his apology doesn’t exactly ring sincere. Also, wtf is “inner-city Minneapolis”? I live in the city and have never heard a single person use that phrase.

Margin of Terror@randballsstu.bsky.social

The same guy who endorsed tafoya in the strib today wrote that "70 percent of the teams in the NBA could fold tomorrow and nobody would notice a difference with the possible exception of increase in street crime." He's considered a moderate.

I am absolutely confounded that this race continues to poll so closely. Peggy Flanagan loves this state, is an intelligent and experienced public servant, and will absolutely make the lives of Minnesotans better. I genuinely don’t get what Tafoya has to offer people other than an R beside her name

Peggy Flanagan isn't responsible for any fraud in Minnesota. Michele Tafoya isn't responsible for any fraud in the federal government. The difference: Flanagan isn't *beholden* to anyone responsible for fraud in Minnesota. Tafoya *will* be beholden to the orange Fraud Daddy.

Also, lol if he thinks that’s going to stop anyone from investigating him. If you’re not doing anything wrong why wouldn’t you comply, isn’t that what they believe?

Listen, the day It happens is going to be cause for celebration no matter what. But he could do something really funny and go before he pardons anyone.

Give me the confidence of a mediocre white man. And give this guy his binky.

Republican Rep. Andy Harris incorrectly told a reporter they were breaking the law as the reporter and others recorded an exchange with him last night. Harris had just wrapped up a debate with Democratic challenger Dan Schwartz.

And many of those who are voting by mail are dropping their ballots off rather than mailing them back.

Democracy Docket@democracydocket.com

NEW: Democrats may be changing how they vote because of Trump’s nonstop mail voting attacks. New data suggest they're requesting mail ballots at a lower rate and sending them in faster than in years past.

I wish more people understood this, or maybe that more people cared about how important this concept is. What this admin is doing goes so far beyond partisan politics it’s stunning that a single person will vote for R’s this cycle, let alone the millions who will without hesitation.

We literally fought a whole danged American Revolution for one basic principle: how we spend the government’s money is the province of the most democratic body in our government: Congress.

And when I say Elon Musk is stupid, this is why? How do we get Tesla? Basic Research. How do we get Starlink? Basic Research. How do we get Space X. Basic Research. And it is basic research, done by every color, creed, and gender, coming to the United States as students and migrants.

Impeach Hegseth on January 3. I don’t care if you don’t have enough senate votes to convict and remove.

Forbes@forbes.com

Hegseth announced Project Meridian on Wednesday, explaining the initiative will identify weapons and technologies for soldiers and propose solutions to test and implement the weapons.

It’s no coincidence that the far right is gaining power across the world given how authoritarian-curious our tech overlords are, but it’s so discouraging that although they call out and see how horrible this experiment has been in the US, yet these movements continue to gain steam worldwide.

I’m pessimistic about the odds of taxpayers recuperating any of the money this admin has pilfered or wasted via incompetence, but I do think that owners of the media that have played these ads could regain some (very small amount) of our trust by doing something decent with that money.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

We need to get a full accounting of every dollar each media company accepted of our money stolen by Trump to run his partisan political ads on their channels. Companies who accept these ads are receiving property stolen from the American people & are a disgrace for accepting them

Do you think he knows that highest ≠ best in this case?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "We have the best, uhh, I guess you could say poverty. They talk poverty. We have the best poverty numbers ever in the history of our country."

If it’s hard to win when you can’t cheat, you probably shouldn’t have been in the game to begin with. I have about zero faith the Dems will hold anyone accountable (to the extent they are able), but this fucker deserves to rot in jail for the rest of his life.

Angry@angrystaffer.bsky.social

You scared? You sound scared.

Every single person in this administration is so out of touch with the world most of us live in, it’s hard to believe a single person supports them - let alone an entire cohort of voters. This will never not be astonishing to me.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Dr Oz says the Trump administration will kick more than a million people off health insurance because some of them have "never filed a claim"

If only they would just do that. Even a dumpster fire needs oxygen to burn.

Trump to CNN's Kaitlan Collins: "I'm surprised that CNN is here covering me. You shouldn't be here. You should not be here covering me. You said you weren't going to cover me. You shouldn't be covering me."

Democrats are well positioned to inherit power thanks to disgust with Trump, but ultimately none of this is about what Dems did in response to Trump. They mostly capitulated and are benefiting from being the other party in a two party system, I don’t have any positive expectations for them.

I’m not sure why I don’t see trans rights framed this way more often, but this is exactly what it boils down to. Trans humans deserve to live their lives as freely as any of the rest of us, and that is a hill I will die on.

🎃 Imani Gandy Corn 🎃@angryblacklady.blacksky.app

Trans rights is inherently a bodily autonomy issue. Just like abortion rights is. We can't have gender equity or reproductive freedom without trans rights. Full stop. You can yell at me and make up shit that you claim I've said if it makes you feel better. I don't care. I'm right. And you know it.

A Supreme Court majority thanks to two of our worst presidents should be ripe for elected Democrats to take on as in need of reform. Yet, I think too many still think they are required to approach it gingerly, as if it's meeting its lofty ideals and not a muddy appendage of a broken party.

These guys had better get on board because the train is leaving whether they’re on it or not. We’re desperate for action and for people who actually lead and represent us.

At the risk of ruining my mentions, I want to remind my centrist friends that “vote blue no matter who” also applies when Dems nominate a leftist. We need to be single focused on winning back the Senate. We cannot do that without Michigan.

Come on Michigan, do the right thing today and show Stevens that her vile racism is the dealbreaker it should be.

Abdul El-Sayed@abdulelsayed.bsky.social

I believe in the kind of America where no matter where you grow up, the color of your skin, how you pray, you deserve equal rights in this country. You deserve to go to a good school, get healthcare when you need it, and know that you can graduate and get a good job.

I’m not sure how much louder the electorate can get. Party leadership is completely missing the moment by insisting on maintaining the status quo. We are demanding change as though our lives depend on it - because they do. Nat’l Dems are fools if they don’t get on board.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

New in PN: Moderate Democrats have a choice to make "They can spend the next three months reinforcing Republican messaging about their party & making it less likely Dems take power. Or they can put the 'battle for the soul of the party' off for a while and do what they can to help their party win."

This is why voters are choosing DSA candidates. Trying to squash these candidates underscores why so many think both parties are basically the same. No wonder fundraising is abysmal - why should I support an org that thinks they know better than the voters? Do better @electdemocrats.bsky.social

Democrats have introduced a bill allowing ICE-Gestapo killers to be sued for civil rights violations. Considering they’ve kidnapped and imprisoned over 60K people and are murdering people in the streets, this is needed, but we need to start seeing them jailed for their atrocities.

They may not realize it, but they’re making the case for alternative response.
