Pope Leo XIV’s lung cancer surgery last week was a success and no further treatment is required, the Vatican press office said in a bulletin. https://cnn.it/4iumS9j

I live in Kansas and I'm trying to remember when I felt things changing here. Honestly I think taking a bulldozer to the East Wing, the People's House, started it here. He's such a fool.

I’m from Kansas and honestly I don’t understand why they would have deployed ICE before the election. Nobody wants their neighbors or work force threatened. Not just immoral but bad politics.

It isn’t a coincidence that many rich countries are accelerating policies to reduce immigration at the same time we are witnessing more natural disasters supercharged by climate change.

We’re training 10,000 volunteers in seven states we’ve identified as most vulnerable to GOP election interference before, during, and after Election Day: Alaska, Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio and Texas. Scorching temperatures and a long, dry summer have given locals and tourists alike a rare opportunity to see the remains of a 2,000-year-old bridge that once spanned the Tiber river that weaves through the center of Rome. https://cnn.it/4zk3UbV

Shame on this ignorant display.

Fauci accuses Rand Paul of having an "unhinged obsession with calling for my prosecution" and of making "repeated slanderous comments," then says "although it pains me to do so... under advice of my attorneys, I will invoke my right under the 5th Amendment to refrain from answering your questions."

I will never get over my kids, playing video games with their friends, IN PERSON, LIKE WE DID IN THE OLD DAYS… yet still saying things like “Chat, am I cooked?” As if they’re playing on Twitch in front of an audience.

Lately I've noticed a democrat governor being blamed for a Republican senators lack of communication on his health. Dems are better off without his vote. A total panic over democratic socialism I think because of a very popular mayor of a big city. Maine figured it out! Take a break.

Escorting the nine-year-old to a friend’s birthday pool party, I told him I wasn’t going to swim in part because I’m dressed for work. He told me I could just jump in like Mamdani did. This is what socialism does to our children.

I miss my country. I miss true Patriotism. I miss bravery. I miss stoicism.I miss seriousness. I miss knowing, whether I agree or not, administrations’ love of country. I miss love of knowledge. I miss so much and the answer is so simple. Show up and vote. Have pride. Be a good person. Help others

Trump: "The USA will be, from this point forward, known as 'THE GUARDIAN OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT,' but as such, and as a matter of FAIRNESS, will be reimbursed, at the rate of 20% on all cargo shipped, for costs necessary to do the job of providing safety and security ... "

here is what i think: we're not consumers or spectators, we are participants with agency. you should not hope that democrats will do anything. you must work to force them to do the right thing. the odds are long, but we are far from the first americans to face long odds. we will win.

jamelle@jamellebouie.net

you know, when someone says something like "these are the things that need to be done to avert disaster" and your response is "you think democrats will do that?!?" all you're telling me is that you think politics is a spectator sport

I’ve always wondered how Dems would deal with a Trump in our party. I think it starts like this. Justifying a vote to get control. It’s a dangerous path to follow. I want control of the Senate too but at what price.
