In #MathsToday we were rearranging where factorising is required. I like how the first three are relatively easy, but our answer to "make c the subject" gives us an insight into how we might rearrange for x.

At a pet store, two polite dogs receive treats from a friendly employee. Instead of immediately snapping it up, they both look at the owner with the sweetest, most patient expressions, awaiting permission. Original post

Being English or British means believing in something bigger than yourself. It means standing up for your neighbours. Respecting others. Building communities. Not hiding behind masks and trying to frighten people.

If I wanted to protect the most prestigious and highly paid jobs for the social groups who usually hold them I'd probably design an education system that discouraged poorer children from studying the entry qualifications for these jobs as early as possible..

I cannot emphasize enough that people need to read. Anything and everything. Read shit you don't understand, read about points you don't agree with, read someone's praise AND criticism of something you love. You cannot stop learning. You cannot get lazy or complacent. Don't let them dumb you down.

Wow, sad times. I opened my Halifax current account in 1995 as an student preparing to go off to uni. I was enticed by the student credit card with a £200 credit limit 😂 Mortgages, pension, savings, the lot. Might be time to finally move on then. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

#MathsToday (yesterday) I picked a few random numbers out of thin air to make this data set and it turns out you can also get the correct answer from calculating the mean. 🤦‍♀️

Earlier this week all my online Scrabble games resigned me as I hadn’t played for several days. Yesterday I didn’t even complete Wordle. That’s how busy I have been.

Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales. Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37. They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.

Similar, but with books.

Just got back from seeing The Mandalorian & Grogu at the cinema and my favourite thing is that the legend that is Sigourney Weaver is now a part of the Star Wars family.
