yeh tbh if AI is so great you should be proud of it, you should disclose it everywhere and put a bunch of stickers yourself that you used it for your project showing everyone how cool and cutting edge you are, no? like, it's the future right? you love it right??

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

Not only did I meet Robert Kraft, I worked for him. His kid Jonathan asked me to “remove the black music” from my gameday playlist in ‘94 & I refused so they fired me. I was the cheerleader director at the time. I sued them for wrongful termination and won. So yes, I know that motherfucker.

It's not so much that Trump says such things, as he does all the time. It's that as a country, we allow those remarks to go largely unnoted and without consequence.

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.

one constant i’ve noticed is when some man is getting in my face in public or whatever, AFTER he goes away, other men in the vicinity will come up to me all concerned like ‘hey you ok? that was messed up.’ oh so you did see it. well cool man thanks for stepping in

Meta is in the midst of a trial for addicting children to its websites. It could cost them $200 billion (or even $1.4 *trillion* by some accounts). It could be the end of social media as we know it, and @ryanlcooper.com feels fine: "Social media... is a gravely toxic institution."

Dolly would say “I am not political” while spending a lifetime ensuring poor kids were able to have access to books because the action was worth more than the headline

We recently got our final Dolly Book, as we call them in our house. After two kids, there are more than 100 of them on our bookshelves. My youngest watched her goodbye video where she says all the things in this letter and said “Can Dolly see me??” She was their friend and they loved her.

Joel@itsjoels.bsky.social

This is the letter kids got at the end of Dolly’s Imagination Library. I defy you to read this and not cry.

I haven’t told them yet. I don’t know when I will. To them, Dolly was just like any other family member who sometimes calls to say hi or sends a gift in the mail. What an improbably wonderful human she was. How lucky we were.

this story is batshit Here is the full article, which includes all prompts, trial transcripts, the report itself. The firm hired charged more than $80,000 for the report. Also shows that AI transcripts can be discoverable and can be very revealing: www.404media.co/show-how-3m-...

Abolishing ICE is now the official position of the Democratic Party

Dante Atkins@danteatkins.bsky.social

Here are things that happened at the DNC today: 1) Resolution calling to abolish ICE unanimously adopted 2) Brand-new early state calendar that reflects the full diversity of the Democratic base 3) Rejection of insider efforts to ban RCV from being used in presidential primaries Great results here

The president travels secretly all the time. There are decoy limousines. Purposely trying to draw fire to a packed jet is another thing, and that's why it leaked.

Gillian Brockell@gillianbrockell.com

As noted further down in the story, "Air Force One" is actually a callsign, not a specific plane. Any plane the president is on is AF1. I get a president having to fly incognito, like when Biden went to Ukraine. But to call something AF1 that *wasn't* AF1 -- AND FOR THAT TO LEAK -- seems bad?

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.
