Goes without saying the true punk ethos is one of equality and those punks hated fascists and nazis. Great story about Bad Brains playing in a KKK bar in the South. youtube.com/shorts/ltdy_...
Now it matters? This is the same person who said there was no difference between Trump and Biden/Harris. I suppose better late than never.
“For the love of god, get out there and vote.” Jon has a message for 2026 voters, plus an all-new podcast on AI’s looming threat to our financial institutions with Ed Zitron. Drops tomorrow!
I would love to hear from any of my mutuals who have some political insight into what I consider a perplexing stance by Harris.
The entire idea Dems will be able to govern/legislate with the current GOP in opposition is pathetically naive and it makes me wonder what kind of scam Harris is trying to pull on people.

You can do the same thing, buying a house and borrowing against it—ha ha, just kidding, normal people get taxed annually on their wealth via property taxes, the "you can't tax wealth, the economy will collapse!" rule applies solely to the super-rich.
For the fabulously wealthy, paying taxes is pretty much optional. They can borrow against their vast wealth, which is mostly an untaxed capital gain, without paying taxes. When they die, the capital gain goes to zero. And loopholes exist to bypass the estate tax too.

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

This isn't really fair to gifted kids who aren't trained teachers and don't know how to teach. It's also not fair to the kids who are struggling and need actual, targeted instruction from an adult who knows how to help kids with learning difficulties.
"But what do we do with the gifted kids, they'll just sit in class and twiddle their thumbs?" I don't know, I guess it's impossible for them to help their classmates, or work on a project in class that uses their curiosity and also teaches their classmates something. <shrug> Guess we can't!

Our framing of what glucagon does, and does not do in the body has massively shifted in one summer. No longer should we just view it in a narrow lens of increasing blood glucose. But rather for its profound metabolic benefits. Starting with improving insulin sensitivity and improving liver health.

I don't know that there is a definitive line to cross that makes you say, "I live in a police state now" but when masked gunmen can routinely brutalize the public, citizen or immigrant alike, with impunity, you have reached that point.

Yes, the modern GOP doesn’t hold any views that would fit into conservativism. I like regressive politics as a description although I’m not totally sold on it. Happy to hear alternatives.
They're not "conservative"; it's just that Americans as a group are so stupid & ignorant they truly believe all political thought can be divided neatly into "liberal" (meaning "the platform of the US Democratic party") and "conservative" (meaning "the platform of the US Republican party").

This 👇 is key. These people are inherently evil and don’t deserve to walk among decent people or breathe the same air as us. Just because they are in positions of power doesn’t mean they deserve anything less than someone who commits 1st degree murder.
Far more of us than we'd care to admit are basically Schielke, but the Stroops are real, they don't look like stereotypical villains (Stroop's a pretty pathetic figure), and they're never, ever going to be brought around to understanding the evil inherent in their actions.
