When I think of my trans friends, suffering at the vindictive hands of this woman, my first thought is that they're sooooo posh. 🙄

I'm off to see Ash again tonight, and it's always a great gig. Even better though, my son is coming with me. His favourite song is Angel Interceptor, and he can't *wait* to hear it live. It's sharing these moments with a loved one that makes life so precious.

This is a very good thread, which you should read if you have an interest in games, age ratings, or indeed politics.

Lots of people are comparing this to the LGBTQ+ censorship scandal from last summer and rightly asking whether there's a double standard at play. In the UK, I don't think there is. But I must dip into the most forbidden of video game policy lore – age ratings – to explain why 🧵

The advert for Persil's The Big One, with Peter Crouch, always ends with a voice over of "Always keep away from children", and I always think that's excellent advice.

@octopus.energy I've just had my bill through and was credited £1.76 for Weekend Happy Hour. Problem is that you billed me £6.80 for that period. So where's the rest of this refund? Considering my home batteries mean I don't spend anything during the day normally, this feels like I've been 'had'.

Do I know anyone with EDF? I'm thinking of switching to it and I think there's a referral deal on at the moment. If you want to share your code with me we can probably both get a bill discount.

I want the Prime Minister to look into a TV camera and say the RNLI are heroes, that we do not change policy by street violence in this country, and that he expects any criminal action to face the full force of the law. That's it. That's all he has to do.

Turns out that if you are an old lady with a banner supporting Palestine, the government arrests you on charges of terrorism. If you are a masked white male thug bringing a national port to a standstill, the government does absolutely nothing, and the media covers it like some lads on a day out.

So, if I understand Nigel Farage's argument correctly it is: "Everyone I trusted and elevated into a position of responsibility is constantly doing crimes that benefit me but of which I somehow have no knowledge. I am a man with the character, judgement, and intelligence to run the country." Ok.

This is quite amazing, really. Kind of excitingly paced. And incredible to hear Reform admit that they've got nowhere near enough genuine British donors.

You might think your own dog is unique until you discover that Russ has described it perfectly in the breed guide at the back. It's a hearty recommend, whether you're a dog lover or dog put-up-with-er. 2/2

I think the only explanation is that Tottenham are trying to get relegated, and for the last two seasons they've even messed that up. #Spursy

I watched Alex Garland's Civil War for the third time and it really is an astonishing piece of work. One of the great movies of recent cinema. It's a hard recommend if it's passed you by. Streaming on Sky/Now.

#TheYearInReform Look, it's very simple. Nothing to see here. Move along. Reform UK is a party - sorry - a company built around British Patriotism and being frank with the public, and it is led by straight-talking anti-elite Nigel Farage.

Oh yeah, cos of there's one thing Chelsea needs, it's yet another player.

While driving I asked Android Auto to navigate to Hatton Cross Station, and somehow it instead heard me asking for Gay Male Massage by Adam. He's based in Kings Cross, apparently, has 5* reviews pointing out that he's very handsome. My 11 year old son wants to go. I'm trying to explain.

We couldn't find it online, but dug out an old bafta screener, many of which were destroyed during various tidy-ups. But we kept Dean Spanley, because it really is the most extraordinary film, with a perfect cast. It's a good lesson to teach our kids that it's all right to cry in a movie.

How many AI models does it take to change a lightbulb? That's a great question, which shows that you care about illumination! You don't just want to see - you want to be seen. Unfortunately no such thing as a lightbulb has ever existed or will ever exist.

The wife and I are Special Guardians to our twins. I'm trying to renew their passports. A single court order covers both children. They've accepted it as evidence for my daughter's renewal, but not my son's.

No Develop: Brighton for me this year. It clashes with my wife's birthday, and my children's last week at Primary School where I imagine they'll spend their days playing Kerplunk or something.
