#BookyMcBookface is away on the ferry to the beautiful #Orkney island of Westray today.
Last winter we filmed a full day of travelling from the library to Westray, around the island, and back again. 12 and a half hours in 2 minutes. Hold on tight! 💨
Wanted an easy Linux to install on my surf laptop, most beginner-friendly distro websites are not beginner-friendly, wall of information, too many variants to choose from, and convoluted installation instruction, CDs anyone? I am not a beginner, so I managed, but it could have been made easier
Almost forgotten started #glitchart way earlier than 2010, here are some old experiments I did with a friends photo scanner around 1999-2000 photos.dragicakahlina.com/piwigo/index... based on even earlier experiments with my fathers office photocopier, these I don‘t have anymore …
Recommend #piwigo if you want to host your images on your own web server, it is not the prettiest, but with a bit of work and the right plugins you can customize it to your need, it even can host videos and has a mobile app and its under your own control, no shutdowns or unexpected paywalls
Finally all the new modules have found their place, had to resurrect the Nifty case since the Magneto does not fit into the Mantis and decided to put all the touch modules there too, the Plinky even with the backplate just nicely fits on there #eurorack
The president has covered the Oval Office in gold, is planning a massive military parade for his birthday, and is now accepting $400,000,000 luxury planes from foreign powers as personal presents.
What the fuck are we doing here?
Had some leftover yarn from early tatting experiments and thought I would try putting them through the #knittingmill and then I found some more leftover yarn from other projects and now I have this and I don’t think I can stop
I am very proud of our #digitalideation#hslu Lucerne students, this is only a small fraction, in the last now almost 10 years I saw so many cool projects from students who were open to try new things and challenge themselves, interview in German hub.hslu.ch/informatik/d...
chatgpt has fully broken-through to every facet of the corporate environment. I'm spending a not-insignificant amount of my time every week now explaining to people that just because chatgpt told you that something was possible doesn't mean that it a) is or b) even exists
Announcing deadlines for my game to make sure its not staying in limbo indefinitely : Amaze @amazefest.bsky.social this year first playable prototype/level, if you are in Berlin, please ask me about it, at Fantasy Basel Switzerland 2026 I will show my finished game at the SGDA booth #swissgames
Imagine DOGE opens your mail and finds your household electric bill. To eliminate this cost, they burn your house down without warning. Then they total up the bills that, as a homeless person, you will never again pay. On its website, DOGE boasts about the money it has saved you.
Trump has spent decades proving he doesn’t honor agreements, whether in business, diplomacy, or trade. If history is any guide, Ukraine should not count on this minerals deal lasting, nor should any ally expect consistent support. It’s always about Trump first, everyone else second
- €500 billion for infrastructure (rail, bridges, airports, critical infrastructure) will be allocated over a period of 10 years.
CDU leader and incoming Chancellor Merz:
"Whatever it takes!"
My take:
Finally!
Within a week Trump announced sanctions relief for Russia, 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada, 10% on China, threatened Europe, and cut off aid to Ukraine while openly threatening Zelenskyy for not surrendering to Russia.
Incoming future Chancellor Friedrich Merz is convinced that the incident in the Oval Office between President Zelensky and Trump was a planned escalation.
"I watched the scene several times and according to my assessment, this wasn't a spontaneous reaction, but obviously a premeditated escalation."
Still hard to believe that I live in such a beautiful place. Mind you, it had to come after retirement because there aren't any science labs to work in here. This photo was taken the year we moved in, at about this time of year. It hasn't changed much at all. 📸
No matter how messy you are, bright diffuse astronomical objects are Messier.
(I am sure that someone has said something like this before, but will not Google it now, so as not to destroy my illusion of having come up with something clever and original.)

The Mithraeum in London is an amazing place to visit. Not only is the Roman temple to Mithras on display, but there are some fabulous ancient artefacts to see too! #SiteSaturday#RomanArchaeology#AncientBlueSky

Glaciar Conejeras (COL)
1990s | 2023
This part of the glacier has been declared extinct in 2024 ✝️
Culminating at 4945 m, the Nevado Santa Isabel is the lowest glacierized peak in COL, making it vulnerable to the ELA rise (now constantly above 5000 m)
It will be ice-free within 5 years 🔥
