This is how we win. Never cede ground on your position on ‘losing’ issues or you leave an opening for your opponent to define you

The job of a good message isn't to say what is popular. The job of a good message is to make popular what we need said.

For someone who positioned themself as a fighter & being clear eyed about Trump, & now seeing Stevens, Craig and Hong all strongly support and immediately start campaigning for the Dem nominee creates serious questions about @crockett.house.gov authenticity and commitment

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement told officers to suspend most vehicle stops around the country, two sources briefed on the matter said, after agents fatally shot two men six days apart during stops in Texas and Maine. Reuters correspondent Kristina Cooke has more.

Ossoff makes an important point here that accurately frames Trump’s election fraud lies as racist. Trump’s 2020 election lies and efforts to overturn its results always target Black voters as illegitimate. The localities Trump challenged were disproportionately majority-Black.

Ossoff: "We understand the president may be threatening to declare sitting senators illegitimate. If that's the course of action he pursues, he's calling GA voters illegitimate...he was humiliated as a committed lifelong racist that it was Black voters in Georgia who were instrumental in his defeat"

Trump justified his complete dismissal of the Election Assistance Commission by asserting his presidential power. But that’s not the only reason, Marc Elias says. “[Trump] doesn’t like there to be true experts who are willing to tell the truth to the American public.”

This is Susan Collins giving the most feckless response to ICE killings possible. She mastered the art of saying almost nothing while people are dying. The only proper response to the killing of Joan Sebastian Guerrero is outrage. VOTE HER OUT

This is I believe the third incident where ICE has gone to arrest people, they flee, and someone is hit by a car or other vehicle and dies. In this case, ICE officers went to question some people at a gas station, they panicked, and one of them ran into the road and was hit by a truck.

NEW: A 28-year-old man died Tuesday morning following an encounter with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations agents in St. Augustine, marking the third death involving ICE in a week.

Can we start a petition to nominate @hcrichardson.bsky.social for the Nobel Peace Prize? Can’t think of another person alive who, as a one woman news room, has done more to motivate a people slipping into fascism to fight back and remind us of the virtues of democracy & the history that supports it

Technology is supposed to serve people. But when it’s framed as inevitable—something you have no choice but to adopt or be replaced by—the question flips: are we serving the technology, and who is the tech then really serving?

Further if you say it’s because government is responsible for regulating them - if government is supposed to be responsive to the people then shouldn’t the people with platforms like you be calling for business leaders to be held to a higher standard and not continue perpetuating this idea?

Why did 53% of white women who voted for Trump, against their own interests? Many of these women voted not for themselves but supposedly for their sons and husbands. It’s a moral failure that we never ask ourselves why we don’t hold the expectation for those men to vote for their moms and wives

Trump: "Our Country was unnecessarily RANSACKED by the Supreme Court, which has become a weaponized Political Organization ... They wouldn’t even call out The Rigged Election of 2020 & now it has been conclusively proven to be stolen — look what happened by allowing a grossly 'President.'"

Trump: "The Courts treat Republicans, & me, so unfairly, always seeming to protect those who should not be protected. Cases don’t matter, the Judge does! As an example, how is this absolutely terrible Fed Chairman, Jerome 'Too Late' Powell, not allowed to be investigated for horrible job he does?"

It’s crystal clear now that Trump has lost control of this war. He badly misjudged Iran’s ability to retaliate. The region is on fire. 1/ I’m going to explain to you in this🧵what I’ve learned - in part from closed door briefings - about the four biggest current crises.

Videos verified by The New York Times show the man federal agents shot and killed in Minneapolis on Saturday was holding a phone, not a gun, before the agents took him to the ground and shot him. At least 10 shots appear to have been fired within five seconds. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Minnesota ICE-watchers did this. By relentlessly documenting ICE/BP/DHS abuses—taking on personal risk to do so—they’ve gotten the horrors into more information streams. Got more people to pay attention, undermined Trump regime lies, and shifted the stances of some Democratic officeholders.

Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump. Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.
