Democrats are preparing to investigate Trump's agreement to import Russian diesel if they regain control of Congress, Axios reports. Lawmakers urged US banks and several ports to preserve Russian diesel deal records, warning the imports could violate a 2022 ban and fund Russia’s war in Ukraine.

House Judiciary Democrats have just released a 50-page report that pulls together years of assault allegations against Trump and his reported connections to Jeffrey Epstein. The report calls for a special counsel to investigate Trump's ties to Epstein.

If we survive the Trump/Vance era, one of the highest priorities for restoring the republic has to be Congress reclaiming its constitutional war powers. We were never meant to go to war based on one man's whims. That's when you have a monarchy, not a constitutional republic.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "I didn't go to Congress. Remember Sleepy Joe? 'Oh, if they would give me approval in Congress!' You're not gonna get approval. You just do it. You're the president."

This means a new War Powers Act, with zero ambiguity and with actual teeth, and legislators and citizens prepared to treat presidents who violate it like the tyrants they are. A tall order. But what has happened this year must never, ever be allowed to happen again.

It's still insane to me, absolutely insane, that we allowed anyone to be elected president after calling for the "termination" of the Constitution, as Trump did in 2022. He's been telling us all along what he meant to do.
