I built a thing! * bundle node apps * distribute them without registry * bundles are fully auditable * bundles are signed And now we can have assertions on the content distributed via ATProto. github.com/pipobscure/b...

@digitalocean.com literally doing everything they can to ruin their reputation 🫡

Konnor Rogers@konnorrogers.com

Seems a DigitalOcean team member may be trying to rectify, but jfc. github.com/nodejs/build... May have to start a "Killed by DigitalOcean" All of this on top of funding $3million for Omarchy, killing CSS Tricks, laying off their docs team. 🙃

"PNPM also blocks post-install scripts. Does NPM still yolo those?" Nope, 2026 is when all pkgmgrs opt out of install scripts by default. I just came back from giving a talk about supply chain @nodeconf.eu Slides: naugtur.pl/pres3/lava/2...

Due to AI, I have disabled external pull requests on all my repos. Open source, as we have known it, was fun while it lasted. (It’s been 15 years for me) I will still maintain projects and handle issues.

I switch to BetterMouse when my Logi MX mouse decided it wouldn't work without an internet connection, so seeing this web site is a FUCK YEAH moment. openlogi.org/en Stupid companies thinking for a second that devices need a cloud. Mouse + cloud = broken trust. (Same goes for flipping cars!)

openlogi.orgOpenLogiA native, local-first alternative to Logitech Options+, written in Rust. Remap buttons, drive DPI and SmartShift over HID++ — no account, no telemetry.

100% true. And, honestly, one of the secrets to @nodejs.org's longevity is that we exactly built resilience to this into the governance. No single company can represent more than 1/3 of the TSC for instance. It's never perfect but with effort companies can participate rather than dominate.

Bruno Pedro@brunopedro.com

Some companies openly hire people to "foster influence across open-source, enterprise, and partner communities." Or some other companies openly look for people who "hold positions of influence in open-source projects and organizations." notes.brunopedro.com/2026/09/18/2...

Slow down frontier model development. Bring open weights to current frontier. Build out local inference providers, stabilize hardware prices, focus on cost and token throughput for a bit. Get our software updated to handle what's being thrown at us. I would not mind spending a beat on distribution.

Given we don’t write code anymore… why are we still dealing with TypeScript and transpilation? Models can write perfect JS in less tokens.

Plan your new electric road trip with roadbook.us and see which and how many states you crossed during your ride and all the states you visited across several trips.

Wanted to try out Codex and ran a few basic code prompts. They banned me after the first day and wouldn't refund my subscription for the month either. Guess I'm staying away from OpenAI.

Kind of a long shot, but I’ll ask: Has anyone put their design patterns and rules into a proper graph db or graph RAG to support your design system ontology? Looking to bounce some ideas with someone in the design-engineer space and maybe compare notes.

I’ve been a little too heads-down building these last few years… Unfortunately in the past month or two I’ve come to the conclusion that while I’m proud of what I built, my startup has one last swing left and it’s not one that needs me. So I am on the hunt for what’s next, be it leadership or IC.
