This is the largest AI debt deal in history and so far, few commenters on the Anthropic S-1 have picked up on its significance. A huge expansion of the AI bubble, with a big part of the risky debt to be inherited by unsuspecting investors thanks to Wall Street's shady private credit business.

Prof. Bob Howarth reposted

Anthropic's IPO filing yesterday revealed at least* $550bn in off-balance sheet debt, for a company with $16B in annual revenue. Paying its bills will require Anthropic to sustain implausible revenue growth given the pressures that are squeezing their--and the whole AI ecosystem's--margins. A 🧵

Amid the brouhaha over allegations of limits on intelligence sharing and the proved throttling of Ukraine's Starshield, a 3rd way Trump is aiding Putin hasn't had much press - the blocking of supplies of paid-for Patriot interceptors. This delay is costing Ukrainian lives.

The Ramaswamy ad has pushed the largest newspaper in Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, to reverse its position on endorsements. "A candidate who uses childhood sexual abuse as a weapon against the person who endured it has crossed a line that Ohioans should defend, whatever their party."

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

Corporate profits are at record highs — but revenue from corporate taxes has plummeted thanks to the tax cuts in Trump and Republicans’ big, ugly bill. Meanwhile, workers’ wages are stagnant and their share of the nation’s income is at a record low. Trickle-down economics was always a hoax.

Trump has acted to remove protections from marine areas stretching across more than 1 million square miles—a combined area four times the size of Texas—threatening iconic seascapes with industrial-scale fishing fleets.

Lula: "We had to overcome foreign interference through digital platforms, which we will have to regulate. A crime in the digital world must be treated the same as a crime in the real world. We cannot have monstrous companies earning millions... not paying taxes... wanting to steer elections."

Things are falling apart pretty rapidly in small modular reactor world. They haven't even had their bubble yet and it's already bursting. Stocks plummeting, no reactors under construction, investigations for securities fraud. Great "renaissance" so far. beyondnuclearinternational.org/2026/10/25/p...

President Trump temporarily waived clean-air rules for industrial facilities that spew cancer-causing gases. Then his appointees worked to gut the regulations altogether. Our investigative reporter Eric Lipton explains how corporate interests took power inside the EPA. Read more: nyti.ms/4il3336

For two years, student-led protests have raged against Aleksandar Vučić and his corrupt government in Serbia. Today, in parliamentary elections, he was toppled. One of the most sustained protest movements in recent European history has succeeded. Resistance works.

Universal healthcare would supercharge the economy because way more people would either start businesses or move to more productive jobs as they wouldn't be worried about losing healthcare. The US is prosperous *in spite* of lacking universal healthcare, not *because* of that lack.

Last fact, #10. If we don’t address climate change, this only gets worse. Regions becoming uninsurable and unmortgageable is predicted. A “coastal property values crash” is predicted. Elsewhere, wildfire risk creates the same economic danger. Time for us all to wake up.

Fact #9. It’s a cascade, like dominoes. Climate risk wipes out insurance markets, which wipes out mortgages, which wipes out property values (unless you’ve got a zillionaire paying cash), which wipes out the economy — a “systemic risk.” Look it up. It’s not pretty.
