I have been extremely busy with audiobooks for the last few months, and not really working on my game at all (boooo) but here's a little progress update anyway. There's a lot to be done, but it will be finished, one day! #IndieDev #IndieGames #SoloDev

I usually check out as many games as possible in Next Fest, but the tidal wave of AI trash has beaten me Non-AI indie devs please post your games below and I'll check em out instead Also @steampowered.com PLEASE add an option to filter out AI games in searches. It's killing discoverability #gaming

it cannot actually be ignored or danced around that the closure of BioWare came so soon after the Saudi and Jared Kushner acquisition of EA. they absolutely did take the studio making EA’s broadly queerest games out back and shoot it old yeller style. do not let yourself or colleagues ignore that

just wanted to share something i discovered the amount of games released in 2022 compared to this year has increased by 77%. I use 2022 because that marks the last year before AI really took over the internet whats crazy to me is that the amount of games with ZERO REVIEWS has ALMOST TRIPLED. ZERO?

People using AI to reverse engineer games to then turn around and publish clones is straight up theft. Why is anyone pretending otherwise? The only thing genAI is good at making is fucking talentless thieves. Prosecute the lot of them. Sue them to hell.

Don't let billionaires convince you slop is the future. They're used to managing & directing, not making things themselves. Of course they can't see the difference. They don't understand your love for the craft. Keep making personal, beautiful games. You've got my support 💖

I would actively fund or give anything to ENSURE that everyone gave up ChatGPT and the data centres were gone. Trade my house for shutting down every GenAI system in the world? In a heartbeat. Sell you my mother? Done. Give each one of my organs to science? Come get them, I'm keeping 'em warm.

This might just be the most pathetic person I've ever seen. "Many areas of our lives are in a period of renaissance" Mfer every area of our lives is getting WORSE because of this shit. "I want to live in a future where..." Yeah and some of us just want to LIVE in the future. God it makes me mad.

Man, please let this be the thing that actually starts the fall of Fortnite. It would be such a delicious kick to Tim Sweeney if there was a mass exodus because of this.

Hey @cruxgames.bsky.social can you please put the Combolands soundtrack somewhere I can buy it or put it on streaming services? (Or if it already is somewhere other than youtube, let me know!) Having an excellent time with the game so far btw, good job!

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

This tidbit was in the article. 🎈💥 ? "Goldman Sachs warned Friday that AI hyperscalers, including Meta, need to generate roughly $300 billion a year in AI services revenue just to break even on their capital spending—and $1 trillion annually to earn meaningful profits—spooking investors."

Not a day goes by when I don't get at least a little annoyed by GenAI. Never prayed for the downfall of anything quite as hard as this nonsense.

Removing credits like this is childish behaviour. Worse still, it's punching down rather than lifting up other creators and designers. I have huge respect for Alan's response, and the New Voices grant is such a cool thing! Still, maybe consider picking up a different puzzle game instead?

Alan Hazelden@alanhazelden.bsky.social

Earlier versions of the game did acknowledge the creators of the original games at the start of each section, and I consider it unacceptable that this was removed at Jon’s direction. Stephen Totilo noticed this change and wrote a nuanced article here: www.gamefile.news/p/a-complica...

Friend looking for a job is finding the worst scumbags. Twice he's been called a "barbarian" or a "savage" because he has a broad Scottish accent. Now, yesterday, after he asked "where is the job based?", the reply was simply "You don't sound like an alpha" followed by the phone being hung up.

Or perhaps - and consider this seriously - it won't, because it's inherently going to be trash?

Me, testing an AI coding tool to see how it does converting an image to black and white in Pygame This is not necessarily simple, but there are two built in transform functions that let you do it. This is a thread of what the AI attempted to do It gave solutions that would work, but really poorly
