Credit to Ossoff for (I believe) coining "the Epstein class." It's such a fitting moniker that every day they seem determined to affirm it.

LocalStack released a survey of cloud developers earlier this week. Many of the findings surprised me, so I built this little quiz app based on the results. See if your expectations line up with what we found. blog.localstack.cloud/survey-quiz

Electronic Arts is cancelling the next Mass Effect game, laying off 400 people and shutting down Bioware to cut costs. It's the first major move after the company was taken over by Jared Kushner's private equity firm and the Saudi Arabian government's sovereign wealth fund. A huge loss for gaming.

I've always dreamed of a future defined by empty spectacle with no greater purpose than justifying the merger of two floundering companies

Gotta hand it to Musk. No, not for the goofy showcase, but in the way he continuously shows how eager Wall St is to being duped. Even a ridiculously long history of broken promises and faked demos cannot dissuade them.

MS DESK: ".. the new Roadster is a showcase of engineering prowess -- sub-0.6s 0-60, 230+ mph, fan-based down-force and SPCX thrusters that allow it to fly (literally). Near-term volume and EPS impact are likely negligible, but hard to ignore as a halo for $TSLA engineering edge and SPCX crossover."

It’s very funny to be like “X is once again important because it’s where executives post marketing material.”

Just because everyone at the Nazi bar isn't an actual Nazi does not make hanging out at the Nazi bar acceptable. Also, just because they are nice to *you* does not mean they are nice.

The United States is now officially allied with Vladimir Putin and Russia. We will fund Russia’s genocidal war machine in exchange for Putin helping Trump and the Republican Party in the midterms. One of the most shameful and disgusting days in the history of this Republic.

Cloudflare has been consolidating many key pieces of the JavaScript ecosystem. So far, (at least from the outside) they seem to let them continue more or less as is, which is good.

Initial thought is that it's a brilliant idea for Cloudflare to use ATproto for the plugin registry for emdash CMS. This looks like it solves a lot of problems for ownership & distribution that these sorts of registries usually have. (Also emdash is looking solid) blog.cloudflare.com/emdash-cms-p...

This truly is horrifying. Not only is he unlawfully spending OUR money on a political ad, the whole point of the ad is that roughly half of the country consists of enemies who must be conquered.

absolutely demented. like a scene from a horror movie

Sure, the company has a long and storied history of behaving unethically. Also, yes, part of that history involves misusing and abusing people's personal data. But, if I'm understanding correctly, what I think you're saying is that I should *not* hand over my bank accounts to their cool new AI?

the hard parts of building a business are - solving a real problem for real people - ignoring shiny ideas that are fun but distracting - prioritizing boring stuff that moves the needle - connecting with customers if anything, AI makes it *harder* to build a successful business

There's plenty of corruption, crimes against humanity, and downright evil shit to focus on, but every so often it strikes me how thoroughly we USians have been exposed and disgraced on the world stage. A country who can elect such a man—twice!—is not a worthy country. We need radical reformation.

and there it is -- Trump says that if the Supreme Court doesn't allow him to put his name on the Kennedy Center then it will close down for good

I've literally never heard anyone ask Trump (or his sham board) how putting his name on the building would have magically solved their supposedly serious financial crisis.
