Leah Tigers@leahtigers.bsky.social

this experience where every ad has to be a blindingly bright video on a digital screen is one of the worst aesthetic developments in New York City for a long time. your neighborhood train station does NOT have to be Times Square

People love to talk about how giving poor people money will wreck the economy but my brother in Christ the economy is already ass

let's talk forms of protest? big weekend rallies are not a form of protest that has any particular historical precedent in being super good at achieving its aims, tbh and, no, you can't just lump it in with civil disobedience, with occupying urban centers, with far-reaching economic disruption

Sandy Hendry@sandyhendry.bsky.social

To far-left folks saying looting and burning in France is normal and not being manipulated by extremist puppet masters to the joy of Le Pen/Putin/Trump, I would note that the US is also seeing a form of protest that has historical precedent and is usually much more productive in achieving its aims.

It’s a source of endless delight to me that every few months the vpn I am forced to use for work just. Stops letting me access websites, including the work specific ones I have to have it running to access.

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

I know a few folks are excited for #silenthilltownfall tomorrow, so: presenting my trip to St. Monans, Scotland a few months ago, the very real place that St. Amelia from the new game is based on. (Excuse the picture of me; the wind blowing in my face doesn't help me look photogenic!) #silenthill

It's crazy how I never learned in school that the existence of the Fugitive Slave Act alone totally discredits the idea that the South actually principlely cared about state's rights.

I truly, deeply, sincerely do think the guy flipping burgers at McDonalds should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That's kind of the whole point of having a job and I can't believe this is considered a radical position.🤷🏽‍♀️

The AI industry wants you to say "the AI just did that thing on its own!" Like, United Health's AI that's denying a shitload of claims with a 90% error rate? They wanted you to think it's just the AI.

I know it’s for the algorithm or whatever but I need people to stop making videos that’s just a still or a person going from standing to sitting and all the content is in the description. vile

*finger to the air* a turn up god stood here

Really need Poshmark sellers to stop posting shit like this, you’re not “giving an idea of how the dress looks on a model” it’s not the actual dress, it’s just slop

Teenage Matthew Spencer, just getting into Kleist and Kafka and Sebald, would have flipped:

think I’m gonna go insane cos in most ways linux is working better than windows but there’s a 1 in 3 chance sound will just be fucked up when I reboot my computer

have you tried —- yes I’ve tried every piece of advice that’s on the internet except for the ones that are like “spend a bunch of money or change my setup in ways I’m not otherwise willing or able to change it”

and like listen, it’s fine to say Linux is overall a better alternative to windows but if something works fine on my 3 other computers and not on the Linux one it’s Linux who has the problem (to be fair my other computers are Mac and this box had some problems on windows too but less chaotic)

everyone: Linux is so great actually (Something goes wrong with Linux) “did you consider you’re doing it wrong?” maybe you should just buy different equipment” “Linux just be like that haha”
