5 years ago the EHRC made TERFs respectable. What could possibly go wrong? In 2021 the intervention of the EHRC in an Employment Appeal Tribunal made a belief previously ruled ‘not worthy of respect in a democratic society’ into a protected philosophical belief. rtie.org/2026/08/20/w...

Extremely good news from CEC absolutely blugeoning the EHRC Guidance! Also highlights the weird changes the guidance is trying to insert especially around "ethnic backgrounds", which seems rife for fascists to bring sham litigation around the concept of "Britishness". A battle on multiple fronts!

When Section 28 ended, as a teacher I made my school a Rights Respecting School; it based its ethos & teaching on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The government’s anti-trans “guidance” means that, from 1st Sept being a Rights Respecting School will be impossible.

There really is no overstating how horrific the 2026 KSCIE guidance from the UK government is. It takes on board all of the punitive, coercive, ill-conceived musings of the Cass Review, and turns them into a recipe for making kids' lives hell on earth.

So, it looks like the new DfE guidance on trans students in schools incorporates recommendations from the Cass report. Suffice to say that is an *incredibly awful* decision. Here's a thread with my analysis of Cass on social transition from back in 2024.

Join us at 6pm, Thursday 9th July at the top of Middle Meadows Walk, Edinburgh. It's part of a nationwide decentralised protest, organised by the Bodily Autonomy Coalition, against the EHRC’s transphobic, undemocratic bathroom ban.

Edinburgh council just agreed to condemn the proposed EHRC Guidance as discriminatory against trans people, unworkable and potentially incompatible with the European Convention on Human Rights.

My GP recently asked me to declare my AGAB. I refused, and asked her to talk through consequences. She explained one benefit was that I would not be offered breast cancer screening. I pointed to my tits and said that I do in fact have breasts. She looked at them, paused, and said yes I can see that.

Sophie Molly@sophiemolly.co.uk

"Women's health clinics offering breast screenings would be unable to provide this service to trans women. This is despite the fact that trans women who have had more than five years of Gender-Affirming Hormons Therapy (GHAT) are forty-seven times more likely to develop breast cancer than men"

none of this is inevitable. reform are actually pretty weak right now they've only got 1/4 of the vote & if the mainstream media went hard against them, or there was a big public backlash, i think that could be halved

important to remember, since the press will rarely remind you, that the UK supreme court is not supreme in the way the US one is. Parliament is sovereign and can overturn or legislate counter to court decisions, they just choose not to

Such an important statement. Many identified the impact this would have on the disabled community, or people with intersectional needs. It all negates dignity and massively overestimates available facilities. The suggestion trans+ people should “just use” accessible toilets harms both groups

This is a concrete action you can ask of your MP.

32 Members of Parliament have signed a motion to reject the EHRC Code of Practice. It's a code that many feminists are describing as one that targets trans people and is failing women. Please email your MP to support this motion: equalrecognition.eaction.org.uk/rejectthecode
