New from me: The US has faced a higher cost than any other country from the global Hormuz oil shock, with the crisis adding $160 billion to its fuel bill — or $471 per person on average — despite being the world’s largest oil producer.

It's well-documented that the president maintained a years-long friendship with the world's most notorious child sex trafficker. It might strike you as odd there aren't direct allegations of Trump engaging in child sex trafficking.. except there are. There are SO MANY. They just never get reported!

Trump’s team urged him not to celebrate higher oil prices ahead of the midterms. He ignored them — again. The guy seems convinced that consumers will celebrate Big Oil cashing in, even as they suffer at the pump. This probably isn’t what Republicans want voters to hear. www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...

The abstract existence of rich people is frustrating but you know what is more frustrating? The idea that they control me and my country, because they're rich. No they don't. That's not something I agreed to. The arrogance of believing they do is unforgivable and must be penalized, harshly.

I know people try to whip up fury against these guys on these kind of material and class war grounds - they're very rich, they have so much - but I think there's a more fundamental question of WHO PUT THEM IN CHARGE OF US? I vote for my leaders, and I never voted for David Ellison or Elon Musk

You know what pissed me off about the Ramaswamy ad beyond the obvious grotesqueries? There’s no EVIDENCE disputing Acton’s life story. There are court proceedings backing up her story. And all Ramaswamy’s got is the (accused) mother saying “nu uh” and somehow that’s enough? FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

This awful saga is a good glimpse into how MAGA gets propaganda laundered into mainstream discourse by making just enough noise to get news outlets to treat their outrage as a "controversy," which then requires even-handed treatement of both sides' stances: newrepublic.com/article/2168...

Yep. Noncitizen voting is extremely rare AND there’s no real pattern in who does it; it can be people of any political viewpoint. That’s because it’s not some grand “voter fraud” conspiracy, it’s almost always what law professor Benjamin Plener Cover calls “voter mistake.”
