so i’m on the train this morning and a guy gets on with a little dog and pops open a tiny folding chair and THE DOG SITS IN IT

Honestly, notwithstanding the huge felony fraud charges, the F1 race in Boston would have been an abject failure for so many reasons, although it was clear it was an ABJECT MONEY PIT of FRAUD! If you thought FIFA was corrupt, you never met F1 and IOC!!!!

ICE posted an RFI for over 1,000 "surge parking" spaces in 14 cities across the nation. While the posting doesn't state a specific time, it could indicate increased presence in those cities in the near future. sam.gov/workspace/co...

Five corporations control 90% of the US media market. Airlines merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today. Four giants control 80% of meat processing. The evidence of corporate consolidation is everywhere. It means more power for them and less freedom for you.

After years of false claims that Mexican gray wolves threaten public safety and local economies, federal data has proven otherwise. There has never been a documented case of a Mexican wolf attacking or killing a human, and wolves don't harm local economies. (1/3) https://bit.ly/4uyWaiD

kunm.orgThe debate about Mexican wolves is loud, but their economic impact is surprisingly smallFor years, ranchers have butted heads with conservationists and the federal government – claiming that the endangered Mexican gray wolf is a serious threat to their local economies and public safety.

Need help fighting an insurance claim denial?

Jon of The North@krauza.bsky.social

I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases) projects.propublica.org/claimfile/

Unmarried women couldn't get bank accounts, credit cards, or mortgages until the mid-70s without a husband, father or some other male approving the account. Sharia law? That's just a throw-back to the good ole Christian US as late as the 70s

Amazing how many people here thought that "affording to send your kids to college" was pretty much a normal thing in the past. It wasn't, at least not to private universities. And you didn't send "your kids." You sent the males.

I think the problem is there’s a difference between “the economy”, as it is currently measured, and “whether people are still able to afford the markers previously thought normal of a middle class life.” Things like “affording to send your kids to college.”

The Supreme Court did not strike down conversion therapy bans today. Not nationwide. Not in Colorado. Not anywhere. Here's what actually happened in Chiles v. Salazar—and why the coverage you're seeing serves the conservative legal movement more than it serves you.
