The ending credits for Totoro are kind of perfect. Its just a bunch of scenes of the characters loving life, but it's just the right amount of projection into their happily ever after.

When I wrote that joke I hedged on calling it "fake," but i should have trusted my instincts. But hey, at least he proved that practical effects DO look better!

I played For Frog the Bell Tolls for the first time last year and it very quickly became one of my favorite GameBoy titles. I almost played it again right away. Looking forward to trying this version, too!

Here's an update on how the retranslation is looking! If you've played the game before, believe me when I say this is doing more to make it feel fresh than the colorization itself. It still needs a final editing pass, but I'm really happy with how it's coming together.

Wow! This is terrible!

Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon are officially sister networks for the first time in HISTORY. The two networks now share a parent company following today’s completed merger to form Skydance.

I know this is rather uncouth, but if you read this and it resonated with you, please repost it. I want more people to know about this condition and to know that someone can be literally one step away from suicide and you can have no idea.

Never thought I’d see a Battle of Olympus remake. Instantly had the music blast in my head like I was 5 again. I kind of love the 8-Bit to 16-Bit upgrade. Makes it really feel like it was pulled from an alternate reality where the game got the Super Mario All-Stars treatment in the 90s. #blutoid

A remake of the NES game Battle of Olympus is scheduled to hit early access next year. From the original devs, looks like they're updating the pixel art to 16-bit-ish. Hope for the best! store.steampowered.com/app/5013380/...

It was hard enough losing Dolly yesterday. ☹️ And now, we cry a sea of black tears for our very own Doviculus: The irreplaceable Tim Curry.  May these beloved legends rest well, as we carry their spirit forward~   🩷🖤

I never really meant to become an account that reposts more than posts, but it's where I am now. I compose a lot of posts and delete them. Maybe it's because I'm older -- maybe it's because I left a career in online media. I've started thinking I don't need to share my thoughts with the void.

I'll think of a dumb joke or cultural observation, or a comment about tech or a game and start composition a post And then I'll stop. "The world doesn't need to hear my thoughts on this," I'll think. The app will close. Maybe I'll text the joke to a friend instead. Maybe I won't.

It's foreign to me to feel like this. I've always loved geeking out about things to and worth others -- that's what made tech journalism so exhilarating Forums and early social media were a thrill. Twitter before the fall was full of friends and slow (and fast) conversations But now? I don't know.

one of the reasons ive spent the last 15 years showcasing game artists (concept esp) is that their work is SO important to our love and understanding of our favourite games, and the people responsible are criminally under-appreciated for the work they do. aftermath.site/tag/showcase/

guy on a bike called out to me ‘you look so beautiful!’ and i was steeling myself for it to get weird but then he called to a guy on a different bike ‘that’s a great bike man!’ and then ‘smoothie looks fire!’ to a third guy who was drinking one. so i guess i found him. Johnny Compliments

Some of the arguments I'm seeing people have online about media is concerning I'm pretty sure I just watched two people have a heated argument because neither of them understood the scene they were big mad about was a flashback I'm not sure they knew what a flashback was Weird

A bunch of stuff I wanted to pick wasn't in the list, but yeah all these. Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is an undersung gem

"Urban Myth Dissolution Center" developer MOCHIKIN created a website that lets you share 9 Steam games that you would like to see more widely known. The website will also provide recommendations to similar games based on your picks. 9games.pages.dev

This has become one of my biggest pet peeves this year. I've immediately backed away from multiple purchase pages and uninstalled at least a dozen apps because of this behavior.

I am equal parts in absolute awe of this book and furious that a creative team could work in such perfect galaxy-brained universe to tell a story like this. Choose Your Own Adventure doesn't even do it justice, it is a FEAT of non-linear storytelling while also feeling DEAD ON as a Lower Decks tale
