There will be a MILLION social media posts attacking the Democrats for "not doing enough". They're going to get huge traction. They're not in good faith. They will try to convince people that any majority is enough to have total control of the country. It's not true. By design.

Allison Gill@muellershewrote.com

Please remember that Congress can’t indict people.

Congress has a lot of power but the system of checks and balances the Republicans hate was designed to prevent any one branch from reestablishing a monarchy. The amount of time it has taken Republicans to pull off what they've done is longer than many people track.

They got SCOTUS through careful and persistent effort over DECADES. Back when the stuff we've witnessed now would have been so easily dismissed as fringe conspiracy theory. It's not going to all be fixed in a couple months while the executive and judicial branches remain captured.

This is deeply disturbing. The Pentagon has approved letting DHS test a military “heat ray” weapon for use at the southern border, according to a September memo obtained by CNN. It’s called the Active Denial System, it fires an invisible energy beam that heats the surface of the skin,

Trump breaks the law he himself signed, but does so on a Friday, hoping Republican owned media won't call him out on his traitorous policy actions.

BREAKING: WASHINGTON (AP) — Trump puts new Russia sanctions passed by Congress on hold, saying a waiver is in the US national interest.

This and the fact that our politicians are selling policy FAR before market value (e.g., taking a $100,000 bribe for a $1,000,000,000 contract). Get those agent fees up to at least 10% of the value of the contract you amateurs!

Americans for Tax Fairness@4taxfairness.bsky.social

Before Citizens United, the top 15 political contributors spent just $15 million on the midterm election. Now, the top 15 have spent $962 MILLION. That's up 6,400%. THIS is why our system is so rigged. We really, really have to end Citizens United and tax the rich.

It’s bad enough that Gavin Newsom opposes California’s Prop 40. But he also supports Prop 42, a billionaire-backed poison pill that would cancel out Prop 40 entirely and make it impossible to enact future wealth taxes. It’s clear whose side he’s on. Remember this in 2028.

So, one of my best argument against the electoral college is that it actually provides perverse incentives to presidents to ignore states they’re not going to win. Of course, Trump takes “perverse” to unhinged extremes.

False. They're resigned to losing the midterms but it's the executive branch doing the fuckery here and they're not in play right now so the rationale is still hanging the entire country out to dry. Again.

Please don't overreact to the SCOTUS SAVE database decision today Page 6 of the decision makes clear that we are in the 90 day statutory window when mass changes cannot be made to voter lists! Yeah it's a shit decision for the reasons the 3 dissenters say but we can deal with it. More to come...

I'm gonna do a recap of this week when I get a breather because the hype DDOS strikes daily 🙄 As for the whole CRISPR Dario "discovery" announcement:

We need to draft laws where the courts treat officers not wearing and using their body cameras as premeditative. If you shoot someone in the line of duty and your camera is off or you're not wearing it, we need to treat that as intentional planning to escape accountability. Make it gross negligence

Texas Tribune@texastribune.org

The ICE officer who shot a Venezuelan man in Austin was not using a body camera during the Sunday incident, according to news reports. The officer was issued a body camera, but it is unclear why he was not wearing the device during the shooting.

Dude spent so many years crafting false but plausible sounding attacks on vaccines as a part of his ambulance chasing years practicing law that he's now set his mind on that lunacy as truth. It's like someone trolling by pretending to believe in flat earth bullshit eventually abandoning reality.
