This is an amazing thread, but I find myself compelled to write my own since for the last decade I spent an enormous amount of time and effort analyzing JoJo and specifically Part 6: Stone Ocean as one of the strangest outliers within SJ I have ever seen. Part 6 and Part 2 of CSM go well as sisters.

Works with similarly graphic content to Chainsaw Man are not without precedent in Shonen Jump history. Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure is the canonical example of a Jump story full of random fucked up shit. However, Chainsaw Man departs even from this tradition.

To no one's surprise, Nurse Harrow seems to be the most Swol character ever introduced to Deadlock. Guess I'll be hopping between her and Vin if I ever try to go online.

7. Fujino Shiroha (Nue no Onmyouji) Any harem series requires a pledge of allegiance to one of the heroines, and for me, it has to be Shiroha. Sure, she's lucky to get a lot of development, but her blend of cool, cute and silly just compels me. Even seeing her in the background fills me with joy.

8. Top Speed (Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku) In a cast full of weirdos, it's always nice to have someone who can serve as the voice of common sense. It also helps if she serves as a mentor/older sister/adoptive mother to one of the protagonists and helps her find her way in life. Top indeed.

I'll prob write about this at greater detail one day because this thought keeps coming up, but so much of the discourse comes down to the inability to realize why people care about things. "Why do they care, are they stupid?" is the worst position to take, because you probably care about stuff, too.

5. Naze Youka (Medaka Box) People keep saying that the Minus arc is where Medaka peaks, and while it's cool and all, I always thought that the first two arcs are better than they say - after all, Abnormal gave us Naze. Leave it to Isin to make one of the most unique mad scientists.

3. Honda Masazumi (Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon) In case you thought the protagonist is the Fukuyama Jun-voiced doofus, no, it's actually this Sawashiro cutie. She really exemplifies the Horizon ethos: even with all the crazy magic etc, it's actually about politics. I really should read the novels...

4. Greed (Fullmetal Alchemist) This might not be all that uncommon, but yeah, I was one of those kids who thought Greed is the coolest guy ever imagined. And he still is, really, especially with the Brotherhood/manga glow-up: I'm so glad he got to play a major role after getting done dirty in 2003.

1. Margrave Lalawag (Centuria) Buck for buck, she's probably the most entertaining character of the manga so far, and well-worth picking it up for all on her own. Good thing this tall three-armed lady is Perfectly Normal, otherwise her ability to reproduce matter would be pretty awkward!

2. Yuurakutei Yakumo the Eighth (Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu) On all levels, including physical, I am Bon. Centering a story around a single character is always a gamble, but boy does he pay it off, in no small part thanks to Akira Ishida's truly theatric performance.

My only experience with any Key work was a few Angel Beats episodes back in the day, but the sheer mass of Maeda's influence not just on the VN industry, but on media in general is self-evident. It's no exaggeration that his loss will be on the same scale as Toriyama or Miura.

Well, it actually happened, I installed Deadlock... to check the Russian TL. Didn't expect it to be so fragmented: some dialogues are only partially translated still. Quality is a bit hit and miss so far, but they have the time to polish it before the game comes out.
