New: Macklemore says Robert Kraft — who owns Gillette Stadium, where Macklemore & Ed Sheeran were to perform later this month — called Sheeran. Kraft rallied other owners together behind an ultimatum for Sheeran: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you won't be allowed in our venues.

What a weird day in American history. Such a cultural touchstone to so many, but one that also awoke so many to America’s faults. Not related at all to those who passed that day of course, but man… still hard to wrap my head around.

This debacle that he’s ushering in is going to be a turning point when college football inevitably becomes a semipro league disattached from college sports

Put simply -- either Democrats hold Republicans accountable for this mess when they retake Congress, or voters will blame Democrats for it down the line.

it is in fact just the media, which has devoted more attention to this than it has to the fact that multiple republican lawmakers are dealing with “we hired nazis” scandals and that the “we hired nazis” problem extends to the white house

Tur: It’s not just the media, and I reject that framing. 6 in 10 Americans don’t know who he is. I’m not saying he’s the most important person in the world, but...is it worth losing votes you need to win? AES: 10 in 10 Americans agree that they can’t afford the things that they need in their lives.

What in the name of late stage capitalism.... We've had this local eyesore. A corporate developer didn't maintain it and it got tagged all over. Years go by. New owner. No maintenance. Finally, the city spends cash to paint the building. And now there's a new 'graffiti' billboard hanging on it 👀

This is the same uninspired and uncreative thinking that has lead us to where we are today. If we keep doing the same thing we can expect the same results. We have to be more bold, demand more, and dream bigger.

The vibes may be exciting, but if Democrats are going to win this year and in 2028, they must reject the DSA. If you’re tempted by a democratic socialist this year, think of what use Republicans will make of these victories, and ask whether you want to do favors for fascists.

Sure, don’t run a DSA candidate in every race for the sake of running a DSA candidate. But don’t blanketedly run against a group of policy ideas and politicians that are spurring the most grassroots enthusiasm the party has had in 18 years.

The President's war with Iran is such a fiasco that he's now back to threatening to commit war crimes. This is wrong and must stop. Congress needs to end this war, not rubber stamp a $1.5 trillion military budget.

Trump: "From this point forward, any time Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the US will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran."

What 'moderation' really means is adopting the views of a very small group of loud, centrist writers and their big business backers, and is increasingly out of step with (a) the big problems in the US and (b) the polling on what Americans say are the biggest problems they want government to fix.

like 1/3 of the country can't breathe and we've had a parasite outbreak, we're in a perma-war with Iran, but resenting what other people get and policing kids sports teams seems like a top strategy to deal with that

Wild that establishment dems wouldn't start to tack left even for cynical reasons. Even just thinking, hey, people seem to like candidates with ideas and conviction, I guess I should try that.

It has been interesting/depressing/infuriating this week to see the real time learning by institutions and journalists of what an MOU is. To ever go along with Dear Leader’s proclamation of a deal was, at its kindest, misleading.

They’re in so deep with the lies that when pressed they offer no evidence, because they know there is none. This was inevitable, and for them to think otherwise was ignorance and negligence. It was always going to catch up to them.

RAJU: But what evidence is there to prove the California election is rigged? MIKE JOHNSON: Look, some of these efforts are so diabolical and so far upstream it's impossible to prove. But I think everybody knows instinctively that something is wrong here.
