Not gonna watch the clip but will assume it jumps camera view every 10 seconds. Any longer and AI can't preserve the consistency of the scene. It's why every AI video looks like it was cut by a 90s music video director on coke. The kind of stuff that makes you legit tired after 3mins viewing.

Obviously this is racist and gross, but it's also shockingly historically illiterate? No one who has taken a single high school world history course would deny that Arab culture has produced incredible science and literature. This is why we need basic humanities education.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

I don't think I ever watched an episode of Star Trek (science fiction isn't my thing), but I thought casting a Russian while the Cold War was still raging, to make the point that humans would get along better in the future, was a lovely touch.

This isn't really fair to gifted kids who aren't trained teachers and don't know how to teach. It's also not fair to the kids who are struggling and need actual, targeted instruction from an adult who knows how to help kids with learning difficulties.

Ann Leckie@annleckie.com

"But what do we do with the gifted kids, they'll just sit in class and twiddle their thumbs?" I don't know, I guess it's impossible for them to help their classmates, or work on a project in class that uses their curiosity and also teaches their classmates something. <shrug> Guess we can't!

Inside you are two wolves who were displaced when Google destroyed their habitat.

Sanho Tree@sanho.bsky.social

Google’s data center brings wolves. “We had wolves coming into the village because all the wild animals moved out of the forest,” 53-year-old Otanmäki resident Anni Ranta told the Guardian. “They fled.”

The problem with looking for really nice graphic novels is that I then want to write and draw a really nice graphic novel but I'm too shit at drawing so then I spontaneously combust.

This pic of tiny evil makes me think of this 😄

Baby Macca was the naughtiest kitten I’ve ever met. She single-pawedly broke every one of my painstakingly painted plant pots then danced in the dirt. Anything that could kill her was her playground. I had to follow her around 24/7 keeping her alive.

Gavin Monks, 26, reportedly eschewed traditional Halloween fancy-dress options in favour of a costume he claimed would be “sure to strike fear and dread into the hearts of those around him”: a neurotypical man blissfully unbothered by even a trace of autism.

I think using genAI to make images, even little insignificant ones, is hobbyless loser behavior. It completely sours my opinion on people forever, even if they have done good stuff in the past. If you think that is an overreaction or "crashing out", you can take your cringe comp screenshot and go.

Especially as there are 7 damn clocks in this flat, along with two alarm clocks, and I have to change them because my sister can't reach and can't climb stepladders.

Bridle Breeze@bridletimeout.bsky.social

I will die on the hill that changing the clocks twice a year is incredibly fucking stupid.

ive talked on how i wont engage with writers who use ai, i wont eat at a restaurant with an ai menu, i wont have anything to do with it. but what this post illustrates is regardless of how OTHERS react, ultimately the worst part about using ai is that you are punishing YOURSELF and dont even know it
