My late friend's kids are both at the U now, so to be completely honest the highlight for me personally was that both of them were able to meet me for lunch before the game.
In a way, I'm glad my friend Jesse didn't live to see this. It would have broken his heart all over again to see BJs die a second time.

Got out for a warm autumn afternoon ride today. I crossed at the bridge I usually forget has a bicycle stairway, which is apparently exactly as wide as a Schwalbe Big Ben 55-559.

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist
Our poor dog sitter had to cancel with us for an emergency. Instead of a campfire in the peaceful woods, it's in the backyard pacing, listening to the highway and the railyard. We'd probably already be in the tent reading, but now we're worrying about her dog, Stumpy. Good vibes for my buddy.
Went on an impromptu bicycle date with my wife tonight. We rode everywhere for the first few years we were together, and it's awesome to get back at it.

I met a buddy for dinner at the pool hall around the corner. The owner brings his wiener dog, who has his own little platform he accesses via a ramp behind the jukebox. 10/10 experience.

This has got to be from the winter of 2008-9. The next year I had a different winter bike. I think I was riding 6 miles each way to work back then, but I was younger and in better shape. It wasn't ideal for winter riding, but I remember having fun anyway.

I took a quick spin around Columbia Park after work, a little faster than last time, but in personal news I found my saddle bag that I was certain had been destroyed.

I've always been impressed with the horseshoe infrastructure in the metro. I have no idea how often they're used, but these things are everywhere.

I rode my bike to a friend's house, in the rain, both of which for the first time in years. Riding home after dark, and for a few moments it felt like the ride home from work in 2009, arguably probably one of the highlights of that year for me.

ape holders can use multiple slurp juices on a single ape
so if you have 1 astro ape and 3 slurp juices you can create 3 new apes
Tonight's slurp juice mint event is essentially a minting event for both Lab Monkes and Special Forces
New: Macklemore says Robert Kraft — who owns Gillette Stadium, where Macklemore & Ed Sheeran were to perform later this month — called Sheeran.
Kraft rallied other owners together behind an ultimatum for Sheeran: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you won't be allowed in our venues.
Trump: "The people that say AI is going to destroy the World, & that Data Centers are bad for your neighborhood, are the same people that said the World would be extinguished by 'Climate Change.' That HOAX never worked out, and now they’re on to the next one. These people are Revolutionaries ... "
Classic Frey governance. Only his top cheerleaders despite touting “multiple perspectives,“ zero representation from the 44% who didn’t vote for him, even tho they are policed as much if not more heavily. Zero-sum is how he wins, but why his governance falters. www.minneapolismn.gov/news/2026/se...

Bought some clearance sale frame bags. I'm out of shape and slow, and I remember the tires felt slow compared to others when I put them on the bike. I'm definitely not moving that fast, but the panniers always made the bike feel sluggish, and I don't need them as often these days. #bikesky
I probably didn't need the top tube bag, but my contemporary smartphone is dramatically bigger than the one I had when I bought the seat bag.
I cut the ride short; my dog is pretty old and I can't deviate from his schedule very much. But it was nice to get out for a little while.
Man being an "AI Safety" person seems like a great con if you can get in on it. Getting paid to write posts with a fucking flashlight under your chin saying "ooh computers could be scary in the future maybe possibly"
nope, not gonna do another 30 years of this country's dumbest fuck politicians crudely aping trump like i had to put up with them aping reagan through high school and college. hitting the ejector seat, no thank you
Rep. David Maloney, a Republican who represents parts of Berks County, wants to rename Lake Erie to “Lake Pennsylvania,” arguing that the state’s only Great Lake has become increasingly important to Pennsylvania’s economy and identity.
