The Democratic party is a joke, but every once in while, they have a phenomenal candidate. Jon Ossoff is that candidate.

I've noticed an awakening, so to speak, of people on social media & podcasts who are finally coming to the realization Trump is going to steal the midterms. Are Americans ready? I fear the response will be apathy & reluctant acceptance. People will just shift the goal posts to 2028.

I would hope people like Newsom have prepared for this. If they decide not to sit elected Democratic representatives, I hope they have a strategy in place.

Meta is the Big Tobacco of the attention economy. Tobacco pollutes the immediate airspace; Meta metastasizes cultural cancers that debilitate individuals and erode society. The conventional wisdom says this settlement is Meta’s “big tobacco moment." I’m skeptical. Read why in tomorrow's newsletter.

BREAKING: Liam Tadeo was just deported by ICE.

James Talarico@jamestalarico.bsky.social

A 5-year-old Texan just spent the first day of school in an ICE detention center. ICE kidnapped Liam Tadeo on his way to a soccer game with his dad. Liam should be in kindergarten. Instead, our government has thrown him in a prison camp hundreds of miles from home.

Massie losing tonight is no surprise. As soon as Liz Cheney & Adam Kinzinger got a spine, the Republican party expelled them too. The GOP is full of bottom feeders because they're easy to seduce & control. Massie didn't want to be controlled. He & Ro Khanna rocked together.

It seems to me one logical response to southern state racial redistricting is for organizations to boycott the state. The NFL should never schedule the Super Bowl in New Orleans or Atlanta again. Why should a league that is represented by mostly black players reward that state?

The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.

If I were in Trump's Cabinet, I would spend Easter calling constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment. This is completely, utterly unhinged. He's already killed thousands. He's going to kill thousands more.

It seems Saudi Arabia is pushing Trump to continue the war. If nukes were used on Iran - which they could be - if this spirals - the radiation would drift to Saudi terroritory. How do they not recognize this?

Despite Trump's false claims of slashing drug prices, Big Pharma has already RAISED prices on 64 cancer drugs this year. This comes after Big Pharma gave millions to Trump's inaugural and reaped huge tax breaks and handouts from his Big Ugly Bill. "Make America Healthy Again."

Maybe it's because I lived through the 80s, but we are closer to nuclear annihilation at any other time in history, other than maybe the Cuban missile crisis, and people are clueless of this reality.

In case you're wondering, the man is bonkers

There are multiple layers of censorship. Middle Eastern countries it's illegal to take a picture and put on social media; Israel can be arrested if you post photos. Israel and US government censorship; media complict. Just impossible to really get a good grasp on what is happening and how bad it is.

Only place for real news, but their reporting is limited because of censorship in middle eastern countries.

This may be common knowledge around here, but the administration is successfully censoring information about this war. Bluesky is virtually useless for real news. Twitter/X is blocking stories/videos, but some good accounts there. But still limited. We are being lied too (yes, I know....)

A lot going on right now but don't miss that Trump got one of the worst inflation reports of his 2nd term yesterday. The PPI came in hot, way over expectations. 1/

Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war.

For Trump, a military conflict with Iran would distract from: -Epstein files -His deadly deportation agenda -Losing on tariffs at SCOTUS -Tanking polls -His devastating (and unpopular) budget bill -Millions of people protesting his authoritarianism When he's cornered, he lashes out. Be warned.

What happens to the income tax base when AI kills 25-50% of white collar jobs? How will people be able to buy shit with no savings and no significant income? The consumer economy will collapse.

It's incredible how accurate The Terminator and War Games movies were in predicting the future back in the 1980s. And to a more limited extent, Tron with the rise of digital worlds and AR/VR.
