Explore Dr. Slump (PlayStation) levels, maps, models, and it's timeless 3D Pixel Art in the browser! Dr. Slump (PS1) added to the library: Arale, Penguin Village characters and bosses, animations, levels with animated water, waterfalls, lava, moving characters, vehicles. #pixelart #retrogames #ps1

Oooh, seems like an interesting project! I've always wanted to make something like this myself.

⚠️ 3 days left to back Fablelight on Kickstarter! I need your help to make this game happen. A hand-drawn 2D RPG with fighting game mechanics. Hold back to block. Learn different fighting styles. Dialogue options. I'm not asking to profit, I just need cat food money to finish this.

Starting a new project? Turn on and enforce the following right now: -sRGB for all rendertargets and source textures. -premultiplied alpha in both textures and blending. -fixed-point world time and world position. Retrofitting these after the fact is a giant pain. Learn from my (repeated) fail!

For those of you reading who have tried vibe code, or used claude code snippets even, etc; Its okay to just stop if you feel its wrong now, you dont have to double down. We aren't going to witch hunt. We just want a healthier industry continued to be made by Human beings.

Ebay started doing this a quite a while ago, unfortunately. The toggle to turn off AI training is here: accountsettings.ebay.com/ai-preferences

eBay users! Don't ignore today's email, even though it looks like a boring standard update to the User Privacy Notice. They want to use your data to train AI models. If you click the link over the words "the right to object", it takes you to a page with a toggle button letting you opt out.

We've been testing our GBA engine and GBA PCB on the Analogue Pocket as it arrived today! It seems their emulation may still have some minor issues compared to real hardware regarding bus speed. When we run the PCB speed tests they pass fine on a real GBA but seems to fail on 2/1 speed on Analogue

Drop some BIKES! Last year for a game jam I helped make a singleplayer rocketbike kart racer where every other racer is a staff ghost of your previous laps that will kill you (and steal item boxes off the track too)

Chris Schweizer@schweizercomics.bsky.social

Drop some BIKES Sketch from a never-put-together 2018 pitch about a teen circus globe rider who finds himself helping out folks in each rural town he visits. Basically road house for tweens. My poor agent said he could sell it, so of course I pivoted to commercially unviable projects instead.

It was called Echo Rider and honestly it's still one of my favorite games I've ever helped out with, EVER. I still play a few rounds every now and then.

Our feature tutorial/artist for today is this wonderful FLAME PAINTING IDEA by @mitcher_meier! I LOVE how a SIMPLE SHAPE can BUILD & SUBTRACT, and in a few steps create something so FULL OF LIFE! This is such a brilliant starting point for AWESOME FIRE! #gamedev #illustration

Okay #swordtember2026 update. There's a mac build now. You might have to run "chmod+x" on it to make it run as an executable and also it's not signed so...you might need to get your hands dirty. There's a mac build though!

There's also technically some changes to the game: - Cleaned up some minor animation issues. - Added new "Sun" relic to game. +1 ATK on pickup. - More respawn points so later in the level you can't auto-game-over for respawning offscreen.

About a month ago, powmia99 discovered a way to trigger arbitrary code execution fully standalone in Animal Crossing GameCube with nothing but a controller. This was confirmed by Cuyler and I to work on vanilla hardware and we now have a setup that makes it 100% consistent.

It's never too late to stop using AI. It doesn't matter what you're using it for, however much you're relying on it, you can stop. There's nothing it does that can't be replaced by other, better methods. You can always learn new skills, it's never too late.

Other notes: - I don't have a mac build yet. I am *tired* but I'm getting to it, check back later! Windows only for now! - Big ups to MechanicalBlue for letting me use Mech Ant! - Shoutouts to @teeketch.art for the slick Human-Made Art icon. - There's only 1 level because there's only 1 modeler! 😂

Okay I think I can finally start building this game for upload. Until then, I've got a neat treat to show. @tnhnebula.bsky.social is PHENOMENAL and cooked up some pro-tier tracks for this game, so try giving this Title Screen a listen!

NOPE. Not done with the game. Tantalizingly close - like you can actually get to an end screen and get a score tally and there's like 8 enemy variants and all that But also to finish this tonight I'd have to pretty much burn myself out. We're gonna be healthy. I can sleep now and finish tomorrow.

Okay yeah today's the last day. Trying to powerbomb through what's left to make of the game. There's always so much more left than you think, even when you're "almost done" At least there's actually not much left to do. I hope. #swordtember2026 #gamedev

Still packaging up #Swordtember2026 but until then hey check out these cool super moves Featuring both 1) a new character (Membrane from 2025) and a special guest! @mechanicalblue.bsky.social is totally rad and let me use Mech Ant, because honestly that's what started all this!

Speaking of special moves, all characters have an aerial and grounded special move, which allows for some nice variety. Mech Ant for example has a gun and is not afraid to use it. Each one still costs you some health to use but they are great emergency buttons if you're surrounded!

Also, this new character is Membrane! Super floaty and made of fresnel materials - ended up being a nice easy cap to the characters I'm putting together for this project bsky.app/profile/spex...

Spex130@spex130.bsky.social

#Swordtember2025 Swordnik 19: Membrane Making 2 swords yesterday means I had to do more with less. The modeling for this jellyfish guy was very simple, but the materials are where it *really* shines. The char shader is 2 matcaps on top of 2 fresnels, and the caustics are scrolling textures. #b3d

wanna know one of the dirty little secrets of how to make a cool science fiction set? this bad boy right here, the NFS 4 Freezer Spacer. this fucker shows up EVERYWHERE in scifi set design ceilings? check! floors? check! walls? check! tables? check! instant scifi vibe

Bumping up against the very end of #swordtember2026. This game is gonna feel more like a really full-fledged demo than an actual game since I went all in on mechanics instead of content. Today I finished "Relic Blades", which are all keyblades from 2024 that give you permanent buffs. #gamedev

The first blade here is #1 from 2024, where I did all Keyblades: Wing: bsky.app/profile/spex... I still had aspirations to make a character pose every day when I had started this. Eventually had to focus on just models instead haha.

Spex130@spex130.bsky.social

Okay, time to start #Swordtember. 1 - Wings. I made a seagull keyblade! Name: "Boardwalk Bane" Ability: Triple Jump Also shown is my player character from KHUX, who I modeled a while back. Figuring out how to get proxies of models linked between Blender scenes for posing was...interesting.

The other one here is #2 right after! Floral! Or, well, both of them actually had real names too. Wing's name was "Boardwalk Bane" and this one's name was "Lily Pitcher" bsky.app/profile/spex... I had a great time figuring out how to convert the procedural materials into textures lol

Spex130@spex130.bsky.social

#Swordtember 02 - Floral. A Flame Lily / Pitcher Plant Keyblade! Name: Lily Pitcher Ability: Leaf Bracer Those leaves are mostly just really low-rez extruded curves and this neat repeating texture I made thrown through a color ramp. You can do a lot with a little!

Our custom Sega Genesis emulator, built in Unity, now supports dynamic touch regions and widescreen, and the ROM still runs on original Genesis hardware. We're using it to bring Alpha Pairs to desktop, TV and mobile.

#swordtember2026 Haven't been up to nothing! Been getting some level design stuff done before implementing the finishing touches like bosses and game flow. This is our miniboss arena for the Rodent prompted design, from 2025. Said design is a beaver, so you gotta fight him on a tree ofc. #gamedev

New blog post: How I Design Original Arcade-Style Games Arcade players kept telling me that Hyper Bun Buster's game mechanics felt arcade-like, despite it not playing like any existing arcade games. Here are some tips if you want to design arcade-like games too. duckberet.com/blog/how-i-d...

duckberet.comHow I Design Original Arcade-Style Games - DUCK_BERETHow I designed the original arcade-style game mechanics in my game Hyper Bun Buster: Rocket Hammer Action

#swordtember2026 Okay, TONS done. New character (#13 - Bloom, 2025), SO many new mechanics, new graphics, and enough game that it needs balancing. There's now encounters, with enemy waves. VFX. Combos give you rankings. "GO!" flash when you finish fighting. It's...actually a game. #gamedev

This character is Bloom Bot, #13 from Swordtember 2025 bsky.app/profile/spex... Ingame, she's somehow turned into a slow heavy hitter with the strongest attacks in the game. No legs means she's super slow though, so don't miss. Her Pollen Burst special helps stun enemies, but it's not free!

Spex130@spex130.bsky.social

#Swordtember Swordnik 13: Bloom This rose lady has thorns. And by thorns I mean stiletto styled push daggers. Really happy with that repeating rose texture - I took a picture of a bouquet and converted it to repeat a few years back and this is the first use I've had for it. #b3d

#swordtember2026 This is another Sword pickup I'm working on, and it's a special one. It's actually the first Swordtember sword I ever made, way back in 2021 - "Golden". Glad to finally be done with the sword spawning systems, now I get to have fun and make a bunch of stuff! #gamedev

#Swordtember2026 WE HAVE A SWORD USE ITEM And it's...not mine?? Yeah @inazumasosa.bsky.social has been helping with UI and since he ALSO did Swordtember 2023 he actually let me include one of his swords! So, meet Gurren D.Horn (Horn Sword), an equippable use item that drops ingame! #gamedev
