It's surprising to me that separatists in Quebec and Alberta don't understand land title Is it willfull blindness or stupidity? #LandBack

Let's walk through this: Alberta separates; Crown land title is extinguished; Indigenous land title remains; Non-indigenous Albertans don't own land or resources; The Alberta territory tries to raise an army and police force to take the the land, but has no money #LandBack

I've had a very different experience becoming more open to new ideas as I age Openness, curiosity and intelligence are required to explore new ideas; these attributes usually diminish as we age

i keep saying this. all of what you're seeing is what our ancestors saw firsthand and survived. we've seen this happen too many times before. indigenous people live this.

he's defying the supreme court ruling, just like Andrew Jackson, his favorite president that he wishes he could wank off, did when he illegally removed the Cherokee people from their homelands this is not new. you just haven't paid attention unless it affected you too.

For nearly 50 years #BigOil slow-walked the world to disaster by lying about the danger of Climate Change & creating denial/doubt about the science & solutions. Our latest show digs in to a new report about how they're STILL doing it to our children in our schools www.podcastics.com/episode/3521...

@althiaraj.bsky.social you need to recognize treaties and indigenous land rights when discussing sovereignty Under any scenario, unceded territory or treaty lands would be dealt with and the knot cannot be untied Only morons would fail to recognize this (e.g. Smith/Trump)

Ira Wells of @thewalrus.ca is correct, we need more national institutions Army corps of engineers could build transmission interties, electrify remote communities (allowing for water treatment facilities) National wildfire service too, all included in our NATO spend

We’re lucky in the US to have so much clean drinking water that we flush our toilets with it. But imagine turn on your tap and not knowing if the water is safe to drink. With Trump gutting all the environmental rules, that will be our future.

When I referred to the Russian "empire" I was referring not just to the current Putin regime, but to the existence of a single centralized state from Karjala to Karafuto that is ruled from Moscow.

If China were to get Haishenwai and Outer Manchuria back I'd want Japan to get Sakhalin and the Kurils (sorry, Karafuto and Chishima) so as to maintain the integrity of the "first island chain".

Northern and Eastern Maine are not connected to the United States with respect to electricity. If you live in Madawaska, Presque Isle, Caribou, or Houlton, you are using Grade A Made in Canada electricity right now. This is on top of the gasoline and heating oil that you only buy from Canada.

Think of a copper mine with a limited ore body with surplus refining capacity If the mine purchases copper ore from another mine, it can continue to refine copper, yet it has a trade deficit with the other mine Goods > money, this is the basis of all trade and all markets

Canada should retaliate with dollar-for-dollar tariffs that will have maximum impact on the US and minimum impact on Canada. The proceeds from our tariffs should be used to protect our workers. (2/4)

It's a straightforward correlation Reduce low skill immigration through fake colleges and we have more money spread over fewer bullshit jobs Expect more bullshit jobs to be cut, resulting in higher productivity

Perhaps the most shocking event of the past 24 hours.

Dale Smith@journodale.bsky.social

StatsCan reports a big jump in productivity in Q4, and the revised data for over the past year puts productivity in the positive after years of gloomy data. This is going to shock/thrill @kevincarmichael.bsky.social.

51% of Canadians believe the government should approach the United States as a threat or as an enemy. Far fewer now see it as a friend or ally. Canadians have a less favourable view of the US than India, a country which murdered Canadian citizens on Canadian soil.

Putin planned to take Kyiv in three days, but he couldn't take Kyiv in three years. The only way Putin wins now—the only way he finally succeeds in destroying Ukraine’s sovereignty—is by persuading Ukraine’s allies to abandon Ukraine. www.theatlantic.com/internationa...
